Tonight's Football

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Decent game and 3-0 would have done as the handball penalty was a joke. Well impressed with Alexander Armstrong and his goal was vintage Brazil. We have a good strong squad (Luke Shaw apart who I've never rated----sends the ball backwards far too often ) and the Prem bores me to tears at times. Malta defended well and kept the score sensible. All in all, a decent night.
Timing of the match helps Malta. Clearly England were in cruise control and didn't exert themselves.

Mad bastards Bournemouth.

O'Neil won't struggle to get another job.

They've obviously got something big up their sleeves! Their owner has been banging on about the new appointment being the one who elevates them into World Glory!

Maybe Gary O'Neil can go in for the Sheffield Wednesday job now Darren Moore and club have parted company. Dropping from favourites to win the league to promotion via an exciting play off run probably didnt help his cause but you wouldn't have thought they would have parted company.

Completely baffled with what's just occurred at Sheff Weds :conf:

Pretty impressive by England. The days of "oh, it's only North Macedonia" are gone. We haver pace and strength in numbers. Alexander Armstrong really fires the jets up front and I take it back on Jordan Henderson. Really did the hard yards tonight, as did Harry Kane. All the goals were well worked and Pickford never had to make a save all night. Like I said, pretty impressive. Rashford and Saka look re-born.

Fantastic performance against a team that, whilst poor, has the ability to pick up results against the top teams.

Saka was electric, as was Rashford in the first half.

Took my son to this one for his first England’s men’s match. We picked a good one!! He’s asking if we can go to an England away now!

Trafford saves a penalty in injury time to win England the U21 Euros.

£19M? An absolute bargain. Good as Jussi that man. Potentially better.

Georgia Stanway showed guts to put that penalty away so clinically second time round.

Couple of strange decisions from the ref: We should have had another penalty, and we got two yellow cards when the camera showed we go the ball. That said, Haiti were far better then we thought with a very good keeper. We won, but not easily

The rather clear gulf in class between bottom of the prem and top of L1, is pretty apparent so far.

Good example tonight of how even a top team (relatively) can struggle to break down a team that won't come out to play.
