Tonight's Football

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Now most of that, I agree with. There is always a bit more to it than results, when you're working on the inside.

Lee was not purely sacked for abysmal results, he may well had the chaos going on behind the scenes not been present, have had a little more time.

Same with Megson, he probably would have gotten longer if the fans were behind the club at the time.

Its always more complex when you make the decision. However, broadly I think even for a chairman it revolved around past and present performance against targets. Those targets may be different to pure footballing results, but still.....

Out of interest, how many managers have taken a club down, but then gone on to be a success there, Curbishley at Charlton is one I can think of, off the top of my head. Not sure of many others?

And I'm sure you know why that is.. It's as much to do with momentum and attitude around the place than the managers' ability.

Wouldn't disagree. I think its somewhat dependent upon circumstances too. If the expectation is to stay up, rightly or wrongly it creates more negativity than if you were say, Burnley or Blackpool or Hull, where nobody expected you to go up in the first place....

I'm not judging on a game by game basis.

I'd have parted ways with Coyle end of last October based on our performances (collectively, not game by game, anyone can look good/bad in one game - or even in a few games) since the FA Cup Semi. Since then I've seen not one iota of anything to change my opinion.

For the record (and still not on a game by game basis), not once did I want Allardyce to leave.
Lee, looked ok in pre-season, but about 5 games into the real season started to look the wrong pick - left at pretty much the time I would have expected.
Megson - kept us up season 1 the end of which I figured he'd earned the right to take us into the next season, even though I didn't like the football we were playing, second season kept us up fairly comfortably in the end so ok, by about October in season three was looking shakey, went at probably the right time.

Coyle outstayed his sell-by date, still here.

Claret I guess !! If you're feeling blue. :)
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Jussi's performance described as 'outstanding'.

Surprise, surprise his class has resurfaced under a proper manager and coaching staff.

More concrete evidence of how badly managed and coached we are.

Getting rid of Fred Barber for the joker we have now is simply scandalous.

Getting angry now.....

He was lucky with that cross he missed. He didn't miss the defenders forehead though!! Bosh!

The reason Jussi looks better? The defence in front of him. Nowt else.
