In fact, some "top players" may find that outside their scope. He may have to pick players for his system, not try & shoehorn the most skillful 11 into the system. THEN the press and the agents will have a field day. All forgiven if he gets results. But he WILL have to get results.

Time will tell.

we'll know when Lallana starts standing on the goalie's toes! :D
Nah, the real tell will be when Rooney turns up at left back :D
Nope, it will be when Carroll gets the call up.

....and Kevin Nolan

Brilliant interview. Respectful and measured but fuming at the same time. Love the guy.

Why is it that whenever you see the England side and you haven't a bloody clue who one of them is - they always play for Southampton? :conf:

Clive Tyldsley "This is an England side in transition". Has there ever been an England side that hasn't been described as being in transition?

I always think that when the word 'transition' is used in sport, the vast majority of the time it really means that the team in question is crap and no-one knows how to improve them.

Could be easily 3-0 down already. What a slow-witted, leaden-footed bunch.

Absolute dogshit, though worth it for that save from Hart.

Sterling and Lallana don't look so shit now.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has done more in 2 minutes than Walcott has done in ten appearances.
