Sacrilege: Woman to voice Saturday footie scores

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Sacrilege: Woman to voice Saturday footie scores

Post by Lost Leopard Spot » Wed Aug 07, 2013 5:27 pm

You wouldn't make it up in a novel!
57 year old Charlotte Green, a Spurs fan, is to be, from September 27th the new voice of football replacing the melodious tones of James Alexander Gordon. I Do Not Believe It. Sacrilege mon dieu.

They could have chosen a lot worse to be honest from someone who listens to Radio 4.

Like that female football radio commentator that screeches every time the ball goes near the penalty area.
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

You see, bish has inside information, being as his Bish Bash Bosh fantasy team competes against mine, and therefore he knows a terrible secret surrounding who I really am.
So, no I'm afraid I'm not.

James Alexander Gordon has been that voice forever. I remember him when I was a kid and that's a while ago.

It'll be different whoever it was.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Absolutely. James Alexander Gordon, the testcard girl of footie results. Such a wonderful voice. We used to have a game in the car on the way home from away matches - you had to guess how many the away side had scored from JAG's intonation. Always thought that he'd have been perfect for the R4 Shipping Forecast too.

Apparently he started reading the scores in 74, the year of my first game.

That man that does it now, his voice is just gorgeous, so soothing. I could drift off to sleep listening to him read the football scores.

However there is nothing wrong with a woman doing the job, even if she is a spurs fan, so I object to the sexist nature and title of this thread. Can I make an official complaint?! :whack:
