You wonder if the second leg of the semi final will be David Moyes' judgement day?
I mean if they lose to Sunderland over two legs, there can't be much chance of coming back from that?

He's got a 6 year contract...they won't get rid so soon.....BWFC_Insane wrote:You wonder if the second leg of the semi final will be David Moyes' judgement day?

I don't mean they'll sack him, just that sometimes there are games where for managers there is no real coming back from at that club, beginning of the end so to speak....you know like Coyle at home to Wigan. He didn't get sacked but essentially there was no way it was going to end well from there onwards....Annoyed Grunt wrote:He's got a 6 year contract...they won't get rid so soon.....BWFC_Insane wrote:You wonder if the second leg of the semi final will be David Moyes' judgement day?

I actually think they'll get through....but get beaten by City in the final.BWFC_Insane wrote:I don't mean they'll sack him, just that sometimes there are games where for managers there is no real coming back from at that club, beginning of the end so to speak....you know like Coyle at home to Wigan. Looks like Red nose's judgement really was begining to fade towards the end by pushing Moyes. They should have pushed the boat out for Jose.

I hope the 'dead man walking' is correct and is allowed to take a very, very long time.BWFC_Insane wrote:I don't mean they'll sack him, just that sometimes there are games where for managers there is no real coming back from at that club, beginning of the end so to speak....you know like Coyle at home to Wigan. Re. the contract ... he has a 6year one but a 12 month notice period within it. It'll be no more expensive than a 12 month one. I actually don't expect it soon ... unless the fans turn.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Fergie will be back in the hot seat by the end of the season to look like the big hero. He goes to every game and still can't stay away.

I did some work once with Wilf McGuiness. He's a good guy, despite it all.ChrisC wrote:Fergie will be back in the hot seat by the end of the season to look like the big hero. He goes to every game and still can't stay away.
He was the manager who followed Busby and the 'great man' made his life in the new job impossible. It was the period when Charlton was beginning to fade and Best's drinking was getting out of hand. However, when he tried to deal with them they ran off to Busby who would come in and explain to him how he should handle the matters (always with increased tolerance).
He said that on his first official day in the job he went to his (what had been Busby's) office to find the owd bugger sitting in there. He presumed he was simply collecting a few things when he was told that Busby, as now a Director, would continue to use that room. He was walked down the corridor to a smaller room, with his name on the door.
He said he knew then that he either had to overcome Busby or he'd never make the job a success. As we all know he never 'overcome Busby'.
Ferguson is present in Carrington regularly. He's at every match. I see this going the very same way unless Moyses can get the support from the board.
Frankly I think he's toast.

He had a well rehearsed line which went ...Il Pirate wrote:& Wilf McGuiness was a lovely fella, he used to pop 'round now and again when he was manager of Bury, (long, long time ago)as me dad worked at Bury for a while (for the love of it!!!); & Wilf use to talk cricket with me old fella.

Wilf McGuiness did very well for himself after surviving the Nagasaki atom bomb.
