It's about time somebody started this thread!
I know it's hard rejoicing in the misfortunes of others when we are in our current predicament. But pull yourselves together, ladies and gentlemen. There's serious gloating opportunities being missed down at the Theatre of Screams!
Let's get the ball rolling with this one.

I'll try my best - and I applaud the effort - but I am finding it VERY hard to laugh at other teams at the moment.. it always comes out a bit hollow-sounding!!

I know what you mean, your bishopness. But these opportunities don't present themselves too often.thebish wrote:I'll try my best - and I applaud the effort - but I am finding it VERY hard to laugh at other teams at the moment.. it always comes out a bit hollow-sounding!!
Fortunately this could be a long and slow-burning thread.

Of course thinking sensibly it's still early days, but this 'rigged fixture list' stuff really opens up the range for taking shots at him.

Just been reading some F365 Mediawatch and there are some gems representing his change of tune
July 29
After the Bayer Leverkusen win
July 29
After losing to Liverpool"The squad Manchester United has, without any additions, will be tough opponents for any team this year. That is the squad that finished 11 points clear in the Premier League. I am confident in that squad."
After losing the Manchester derby"We will try in the market, but I'm more than happy with what we've got. I'm very happy with my squad and the options we have."
"Maybe where we've got work to do is to bring players in, not for the squad, but to go right into the team."
After the Bayer Leverkusen win
After losing two PL games since."I'm now managing a club which is used to getting close to the final stages and we'll try to do that again," he said bullishly.
"I'm going to do everything I possibly can to win it,"
"You could always pick out the winning teams, but in the last year or two it's been hard to pick out a winner. It's a little bit more unpredictable than it has been in the past," he said, doing nothing to shatter the notion that United could win the whole shebang. Bullishly.
"To win the Champions League, you need five or six world-class players," he said. "Look at Bayern Munich, they have it. Look at Barcelona, who had it in the past and Real Madrid, who have maybe got it now. That's the level you have to be at to win it. We've not got that yet."

I suggested to the couple of Man United fans from the office today that David Moyes is their Gary Megson.
Went down well.

Yeah but there are times managers have to say stuff. I'm not having it that Moyes didn't see the need for a quality wide player and central midfield player during the summer. Not having it at all. Don't think the newish guy doing transfers there is that good.Athers wrote:Just been reading some F365 Mediawatch and there are some gems representing his change of tune

When you boil it down and look at what they've got on paper it is a wonder that Ferguson kept them so high so long. Sure they have a very good squad and some very good players.
But apart from Van Persie and arguably Rooney (when he's not wanting away) do they have any other players who teams genuinely fear? Compare that to others around them and I think they're short.

He had a whinge that "I'm making a lot of changes and it takes time for these changes to come to fruition"
Why the feck would you change, top to bottom, everything at Manchester United?
Surely, if he's a good manager, he should adapt himself to what's there, not the other way round! I bet Fergie's turning in his grave.

Re: It's about time somebody started this thread!
I did wonder last season how Stretford won the league at a canter as they have so many 'not quites' in their squad. Not that we can contrast them to ours, of course, but maybe it was just the momentum that old Red Nose got.
But really, if the extent of his ambition was to get Fellaini you do have to wonder.
