Sepp Blatter's FIFA Copa del Mundo 2014

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Post by 2399 » Mon Oct 21, 2013 1:05 pm

The Draw is Happening Now!!!!

Wait I've been mislead, or have mislead myself....
It's just the European Playoff Qualifiers.

You'll probably find it's the vote for the 2026 venue - I believe Australia, in a fit of pique, are wanting to host it in their Antarctica dependency in the middle of winter.

Having seen these farrago's before I suspect I'll wait till the outcome comes on line.

Doubtless there'll be a "group of death" and an "easy" group. We will be drawn against at least one giant and a "minnow".
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Clever bit of positioning from Woy

Doesn't matter who we get, it's at what temperature the game is played.

Until we get Spain at 20 degrees C, of course!

The World Cup draw gives me a headache with all the pots and teams which aren't allowed to play in certain groups. So I will just read about it in the morning.

... &, apparently, Platini has been meddling with the system to help France's situation in the draw.

Big surprise that is.

He's as bent as Blatter. God help us if he replaces him when Blatter finally has his fingers prised off the door jamb.

When summarised, this is why I no longer bother watching the draw. Its more complicated than quantum physics.

I don't even bother watching the football these days. That's just as tedious as the fix draw.

Why does Hodgson have to be in Brazil for the draw? Why can't he watch it on tele like the rest of us. I wouldn't mind if he were over there on his holidays and he'd paid for the ticket himself. But somehow, in some manner, I've fecking paid for him to jolly off to a beach in Brazil.

Have we paid for him to go?
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

The FA will have, and who pays the FA? Ultimately us. (tenuous but highly emotional link between my wallet and Roy on an exotic distant beach)

One can only hope he's checking out the hotel and training pitch and other such actually useful things while he's over there...

Of course.

Every option will have hotels pre-planned and the moment he knows where we'll be playing he'll be off to the hotel, with his Nectar points and Daz box-tops getting the best possible deals.

They were out in June playing a friendly.
He and his team ( - backroom team not player team) were out there again in October. He discovered in November that his preferred choice of Ipanema Beach (the cheeky fecker) had gone to someone else and the team hotel would be in Rio (his second choice, it being the same hotel they'd stayed in for the friendly) - so they've already checked that stuff out. Won't stop em checking out the beach again no doubt though.
