Knee Joints

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Knee Joints

Post by Lost Leopard Spot » Thu Nov 07, 2013 12:57 pm

Here you go... how the feck can we get to the moon and only just now discover a new knee ligament?

The BBC declares a new Knee Ligament which might be instrumental in sports injuries

Here's a snap I took earlier of Leverend's joint...

That looks like the current state of my left knee. If I was a horse I'd have been put down.

Looks like something that you might find in a Bargain Bucket. My left knee went haywire when I stopped playing football. Had keyhole on it at North Manchester - been as right as nine-pence ever since.

That's a big op for a 12 yr old Bruce.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I hope no-one shows this to Stuart Holden. There's a whole new injury or two in that for him.

Could this be the reason for my knee cracking? When my knee has been inert for a while and I move I hear a cracking sound similar to crackling being snapped :?

Probably just Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (Runners Knee)

That reminds me of the time I went to the doctors complaining of a pain in the earhole. He spent minutes looking in it, prodding, and inserting various devices, and when he sat back I asked "What is it?".
"Otalgia" came the astute answer.
"And what's that then?" I asked
"A pain in the ear" he answered. :?

I have a left knee replacement. Now 6 yrs old. Struggled at first to cycle again, but then when going again, both cycling and walking was the best thing I ever had done. And I can still bend my leg up to my arse. However, as certain other medical problems took precedence, my knees are the least of my worries........

This knee op that I mentioned earlier in this thread?! Well, what they did was to remove some cartlidge and 'tie the rest of it back' whatever that involves. Well, on Friday I stood up at my desk and felt the whole lot go. Gutted. You know how the back of your knee goes in? Well the back of my left knee now sticks out (again) :(

Didn't I just?! It really has been like brand new since I had it done though. Now the muscles are taking the strain again so I've got muscle fatigue running through the top of my calf to my lower hamstring.

Hopefully it is easily fixed. With progress in orthopaedics they'll probably have some new and improved whizzy way of fixing it :D

Yeah good luck with it. Knees are tricky buggers. Worth going the extra mile to sort out for the long term.

My real worry is that I'll get DVT. However, I've absolutely no idea as to what the warning signs are?! I really should look that up!

Bad luck there Bruce. Hope you get it sorted.

I started playing vets football a fortnight ago. Despite considering myself reasonably fit I could barely get out of the car after the 1st week. Today reached a new low though

I came on as sub with 10 minutes left. Touched the ball 3 times, of which the first 2 were both terrible, then pulled my hamstring :wall: (for which I had to pay a fiver in subs)

I'm not playing anymore
