Although apparently that's some 'brush your shoulder' gesture famous old man and rapper Jay Zed came up with for his campaign to eradicate global dandruff embarrassment. I must say I'm not up to date with all my gestures, but I do know only black politicians can get away with trying to look cool. That, and Jay Zed looks like an evil robot sent from the future to kill music.
It's good to know everyone is talking about the important things though, like West Brom players' ill-advised celebrations, and tonight's MOTD where they spent the first ten minutes after showing the Chelsea-Liverpool highlights examining every tackle in the game wondering whether it could/ should be a red and then by the way here are the goals. I blame 24 hour news.
That French comedian does seem like a proper cock-end from a quick Google though. Pick your friends better, Nico.

I think the most amazing part of this story is the revelation that the French have their own stand up comedians.

It'll be that 'alternative' comedy.

Re: Anelka
I predict a four match ban. Based in part that he has offended, but mitigated that only the French really understand how fully he offended. No doubt the FA will move its very sluggish arse and publish on Tuesday, the cretins.

Re: Anelka
I'm not sure the FA can win here. If they accept Anelka's original statement that it was a gesture to his mate who no-one in this country knew of, then it should be a minor punishment at most. Since that French MP suggested it was an anti semitic gesture, anything less than a several game ban, will have all the anti racism groups condemning them for a weak stance.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I predict a four match ban. Re: Anelka
Just because some French politician interprets it as anti-semitic doesn't make it so. I think he should get a one match ban and a fine for being stupid, as he knows it's political and controversial, and such gestures should be kept out of football.Harry Genshaw wrote:I'm not sure the FA can win here. FA have embarrassed themselves again by dragging it out. Cretins is right LLS.

Re: Anelka
Or do a UEFA/FIFA style punishment for racism. A 50p fine and a nod and a wink to not do it again.
*I forget what UEFA fine these days, but I do seem to remember you get fined more for coming out after half time a minute late...

Re: Anelka
Just to help the discussion along a little, it isn't just onr MP who is claimng it to be anti semitic. Its a major issue out in France. The originator is obviously loving it - though it is a little bizarre to see a Muslim man being supported by the Front National. Strange bedfellows.

Re: Anelka
Anelka's had an odd owd few months. He's quite capable, if the authorities go for him, of giving them the finger and just packing it all in.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Zoopla have now announced that their shirt sponsorship is to end at the end of the season in protest at Anelka's 'quenelle' celebration.
At the end of the season rather than now. Is that not a bit 'having your cake and eating it'?
