So the rules are just being made up as we go along then?Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 9:30 amApparently they can still both play - they've isolated as a precaution.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 6:46 pm
Mason Mount and Ben Chillwell are now having to self isolate....due to close contact with Gilmore. I'd say their contact was fairly limited during the game..

B.B.C News has it that they can't play tonight and maybe not next round?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 10:05 amSo the rules are just being made up as we go along then?Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 9:30 amApparently they can still both play - they've isolated as a precaution.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 6:46 pm

Incredible. It was on the BBC that I heard that they could play.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 12:10 pmB.B.C News has it that they can't play tonight and maybe not next round?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 10:05 amSo the rules are just being made up as we go along then?Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 9:30 amApparently they can still both play - they've isolated as a precaution.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 6:46 pm

Does anybody know what's actually going on here?
Apparently the Scottish squad, despite playing their games in Glasgow, are staying in Darlington as it means they get to circumvent the rules on isolation as laid down by Public Health Scotland - that is, that because they're in England only Gilmore has to isolate whereas if they were staying in Scotland the entire squad would have to.
So, assuming what you've heard is correct, Tango, none of Gilmore's group of players who've been around him for the past fortnight have to isolate, but two of ours do for having given him a matey hug / slap on the back!
Matt Hancock was asked to clarify the situation this morning - fecking hopeless!

Oh, here we go; I've got the News on. Nobody's more confused as to how come the rules for the Scotland players and the England players are different than Gareth Southgate, clearly.

This was my source. Sorry if it is wrong. Step up the Government health authority and clarify.

20 minute chat in the tunnel. But I suppose hours in dressing rooms and on coaches and in hotels and team meetings are ok?Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 12:35 pmIncredible. The rumoured team is awful. It was right for Croatia and wrong for Scotland so fingers crossed.

Re: Your England XI
I would like Sancho to see the field at some point this tournament. Preferably ahead of Saka. Southgate either does rate Sancho at all or is saving him because he reckons this is basically a friendly? Ah well, it's coming home etc

Re: Your England XI
So leaving out our best player in Foden from last two? Failing to change the midfield and try something that might look respectable?
Oh goody.
Foden for Sterling and Bellingham for Rice would make that an interesting team though, with mobility and flexibility and some better options for triangles to play through sides.
Re: Your England XI
I mean let's wait until it's confirmed but yeah.
I'd be happy with your suggestion, though as much as I like Saka and think his time will come how on earth he can be ahead of Sancho in the queue is beyond me.

Re: Your England XI
Yeah I’d have Sancho in too but I thought I’d be accused of being too extreme if I went for 3 changes. If as an example we play Germany next I fear we are in for a drubbing if we persist with such a static and limited midfield.
Re: Your England XI
I'm not that worried about it against a better side weirdly. I just think it's so negative when you have to break a side down.
And I think Henderson will get 45 tonight and possibly start in the last 16.

Looks like it's true. Grealish, Maguire and Saka all start, full team to come.

TBF, that midfield will look better with Henderson in it. At least he knows which way forwards is.

Re: Your England XI
Yes. I hope Phillips would become the holding player and then add someone, anyone more dynamic alongside him. That would be a huge improvement. Having said that I can’t honestly believe Henderson is really fit for a knockout game against Germany or anyone good if he’s not starting tonight. You’d see tonight as chance to test fitness.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 6:52 pmTBF, that midfield will look better with Henderson in it. At least he knows which way forwards is.

Re: Your England XI
We also need the FBs getting forwards too, which is difficult when your holding MF can't pass forwards...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 7:07 pmYes.
