What was going on football wise on your birth date?

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

What was going on football wise on your birth date?

Post by hbk4894 » Wed May 07, 2014 10:40 pm

go to this page - http://www.statto.com/football/stats/results" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; -and check it out

according to that page no games were played on my birthday but Man United were top of the league by 10 points ahead of Aston Villa after winning the day before and Villa losing.

No games..also noted my very first game wasn't listed March 9 1946, I was two, and the Burnden disaster was on that date so maybe I'm doing it wrong or records don't go back that far. 8)

Bolton lost a top flight game at Deepdale 3-1. Two results of note, Charlton 6 Liverpool 0 and Wolves 8 Chelsea 1

I was born on Friday 5 November 1954. On 6 November we drew 2-2 with Arsenal at Burnden Park. Two other notable Division 1 results were Wolves 5-0 Burnley and Portsmouth 5-0 Everton.

Result of the day happened in Division 2 at Ewood Park where Blackburn Rovers thumped Middlesbrough 9-0.

Is this a very clever way of fishing for personal information?

The first Saturday I was on this Earth we drew at home with the Throstles.

There .... go find.

Summer '85 so Everton were runaway champions by 13pts from Liverpool. Bolton had finished 17th in Division Three. Some wine collector called Alex Ferguson had just won back to back titles with Aberdeen.

Number One was a version of "You'll Never Walk Alone" by The Crowd.

So, all bad stuff.

Tuesday 14th November 1989 - Bolton drew 1-1 A.E.T against Swindon Town in the 2nd Replay of the League Cup 3rd Round. Sounds thrilling.

We seem to be one of the only 2 teams in the whole football league not to be playing on the day I was born!!

Yeah - I was there, too!

That was the one that Barry Cowdrill had a goal disallowed for offside, after he shot from just over the halfway line. I think either Philliskirk or Reeves was in an offside position. Would have stood today....
