Pfft, I didn't need the rest of the questions.
Where answer eleven is a sports brand that do football kits, and question 12 is what is the new name of that stadium, and we're on a BWFC forum, I was pretty confident! I should get double marks for using my brain and not wasting my time on superfluous questions

To be fair I think Gary's question was a trifle clearer....Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Technically, I believe that the ball is not in play during a throw in until after the ball is launched and has left the players hands.Gary the Enfield wrote:Lost Leopard Spot wrote:You are sooooooooo close. I'm gonna reveal the answer... Which is : goalie; allowed to touch the ball with his bare hands when the ball is in play, but doesn't because he wears gloves.CrazyHorse wrote:Is the answer a goalkeeper rolling his sleeves up?Lost Leopard Spot wrote:So, what's the answer to this: the only footballer on the pitch who during play is allowed, but is the only one who usually cannot.
(you can tell I'm bored).
What about throw ins?
And shouldn't the question have been 'Who is the only footballer on the pitch who, during play, is allowed to do something, but is the only one who usually cannot?'
And isn't that pretty much the question which what I asked?

Well I bet I'm the only one who got the answer without Google
Of course, if there was someone who knew that it was United not Weds formed in 1889; that Forest went 42 games unbeaten; that Manuel Pellegrini was manager of River Plate in 2003; that Di Stefano was their top scorer in 1947 AND that Reebok did the Argentina kit in 2000, and you'd need all of them, well, fair play . One or two and the odd guess perhaps, but erm, I'm not convinced!

Neither am I. In fact I needed tinternet to compile it... But you still had to use your noodle to unravel the obscure ones, Yaya Toure being difficult to find even with digital search facilities.Prufrock wrote:Well I bet I'm the only one who got the answer without Google

And anyway, it was intended to entertain, both for compiler me and for solvers like LeverEnd, plus lateral thinkers like yourself, so result all round.
Edit; and I know Sheff U foundation date - it's prominent on their badge and I live near a lit of their supporters, and I know Di Stefano was River Plate's top scorer in 47 coz it was in his recent obituary, and if you listened to the half time talk on the beeb somebody mentioned the Reebok kit that Argentina wore in 2000

True enough, I enjoyed it
Yaya Toure might have been a tough one to compile, but not to answer. Don't know many players with the squad number 42!

Indeedy... I didn't know he wanted 24 but it had been 'retired' until I compiled it - I do now though. Trouble is, how long will I remember that fact?Prufrock wrote:True enough, I enjoyed it

Pfft. Well I was definitely the first to get it AND post it, and you can't take that away from me. Well, not without dodgy editing. So that has to count for something.
