Then fair play to them. Gentlemen deserve fair treatment.jaffka wrote:Blatter today about the million to Platini, it was a gentleman's agreement.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Bernie Ecclestone has joined the Blatter supporters.
Apparently corruption was a tax that football had to pay.

I read earlier that Ramon Vega's considering chucking his cap into the ring.
What would FIFA want with a former player with an excellent business record?

I don't like Citeh very much, but I don't detest them, and I'm now all for them in their pursuit of vengeance against UEFA.

Next up - Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa and his questionable human rights record. Perfect!

It really is a shambles. There is no-one involved there who is untainted. It's like a dystopian novel.Bruce Rioja wrote:Next up - Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa and his questionable human rights record. Perfect!
Honestly, the only solution is to take Edwin Collins advice and "rip it up & start again".

The FA should take the lead, it was after all us who gave away control to some outfit ( was it BIFA or summat way back in the 1880s). We might not be world leaders in much but we know all about committees, agendas and minutes. Plus we've got Slipper of the Yard to stop any brown envelope bungs. And no self respecting tycoon oligarch mafioso figure would want their headquarters in Milton Keynes.bobo the clown wrote:It really is a shambles. There is no-one involved their who is untainted. That all sounded good until I thought of the FA. Not the best advert for good governance!Lost Leopard Spot wrote:The FA should take the lead, it was after all us who gave away control to some outfit ( was it BIFA or summat way back in the 1880s). Wherever there is sacks of money to be made by people who still have to work for a living, there will be corruption.
Be it the FA, UEFA, FIFA.. Wherever

But there's good corruption (when the outcome suits me) and bad corruption (all other).
This is "other".

Re: FIFA ... bent, corrupt, double-dealing, cynical barstewa
Twatter never fails to amaze does he, bent b@stard that he is.
He goes on TV in Russia, surprisingly a friendly country to him, and pronounces that the 2018 Russian bid was a gimme. Sewn up before a vote was cast. Now ..... hands up who's surprised that this is the fact .... but to admit it, live, in an interview ??
He then goes on to state that the 2022 one had ben predetermined for the USA (why ?? ... they STILL barely play the sport and STILL see it, really, as a girl's game ... OK, money, you're right) until that pesky Platini walked in with some pint sized French-speaking dwarf with a fit wife and they suggest it should go the Qatar ... and *poof* it moves to Qatar.
The reason he's giving this interview is to shift the Qatar blame to Platini.
The reason he sees fit to disclose all this is that he simply, utterly doesn't 'get it'. He is so fundamentally, utterly corrupt that he doesn't see the wrongness in any of it. He thinks it's just the Brits & our press who aren't chuffed about Russia ... and we're bad losers. He sees that Qatar was a bit of a stretch, but points to Platini and Sarkozy as being responsible for that one. "Not me guv'".
Hopefully he was also flat spotting whilst in Moscow as he'll need a bolt-hole if it does start to get messy & they do owe him.

Good job Enoch's not on the committee, as he couldn't resist due to the laaaarge amounts of cash circulating, which is a gimee for corruption. Obviously!bobo the clown wrote:Twatter never fails to amaze does he, bent b@stard that he is.

It Grows!
Vitaly Mutko the Russian Minister of Sport implicated in corruption by bribery and cover-ups in the report published by the World Anti-Doping Agency yesterday is a member of FIFA's executive committee and in charge of organising the 2018 World Cup.
Is there a single member of any part of FIFA who has not got their snout in the trough?
