Are we sure that's £'s btw ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

About time and all Fifa got exposed for the crooks they are! It's been corrupt for decades, should just start a new football governing body because Fifa are never going to recover from this.

As if any more proof was needed of what a shambles of an organisation this is. Put to one side a moment whether you agree with poppies or not. FIFA have released a statement saying they haven't banned them but advised the nations of the rules around wearing of "political, religious or personal slogans, statements or images". Whether an association (or I guess individual footballer) is in breach of this is determined by an "independent" committee that's not the Governing Body, after the event. So the rules aren't clear and it's nothing to do with them.
If the governing body can't pass "edict" on minor things like this, what the fcuk use are they (I think we probably already knew the answer to that anyhow)...

^^ What a set of irrelevant arseholes they are. I wonder how much the FIFA investigation will cost into the "poppy" problem that no one outside of FIFA seemed to be the slightest bit bothered with.

Couldn't be arsed with a new thread...
I see FIFA have increased the number of teams at the World Cup from an already tedious 32 to 48. Nowt to do with money I'm sure Still, at least there is an outside chance that Scotland will make it now.

They'd have to increase it to 128 teams before Scotland has an outside chance of making it.

And they'll be asking for the draw to be re-drawn if they don't like who they get.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Couldn't be arsed with a new thread...

It'll be seeded as such to make it as easy as possible for the so called big teams, though you can be sure England would make a meal of itBruce Rioja wrote:And they'll be asking for the draw to be re-drawn if they don't like who they get.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Couldn't be arsed with a new thread...

Even if they manage to beat San Marino to qualify, I'm sure Malta will knock them out first roundBruce Rioja wrote: Scottish FA chief executive Stewart Regan welcomed the expansion, saying it was a a "positive step".

Let us not forget that in 2002 they scraped an equaliser against the Faroe Islands. Good job they hadn't drawn North Utsire, German Bight, Fastnet Rock or anywhere else off of the Shipping Forecast then eh?!Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Even if they manage to beat San Marino to qualify, I'm sure Malta will knock them out first roundBruce Rioja wrote: Scottish FA chief executive Stewart Regan welcomed the expansion, saying it was a a "positive step".

Can't wait for more games where one small countries team spends 90 minutes defending whilst a European or South American team eventually beats them 2-0. Who wouldn't want to see more games like that in a 2 week period?

Reducing the quality of an international tournament football, for the sake of extra advertising revenue... How very FIFA..
Thing is, 2 absolutely shit tournaments will see advertisers eventually drift away, you'd think?
