There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

I can see why Lennon would go to Leicester - not sure I fully understand why Leicester would go for Lennon. Lennon has not even proved himself as a championship manager yet - let alone a premiership one... he'd be a huge gamble...

According to ESPN (though with no actual quotes at all)..
Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon would welcome the chance to be considered for the vacant manager's position at his former club Leicester City, sources have told ESPN.

I don't get this.. Is he less a gamble than say, Peter Taylor?

A LOT of managers hadn't proven themselves in the Premier League before taking it by storm

indeed - but some do have a track record... it's only a feeling - but I am thinking that their experience with Pearson might make them more risk-averse. The fact that someone once played for you as a club-favourite player isn't much of a guarantee of managerial success (see items listed undwer Owen Coyle! )

of course - you could argue all day long whether managing Celtic is in anyway equivalent to a Premiership track record - maybe it is - maybe it isn't - but I doubt managing Celtic is anything like managing Leicester struggling at the wrong end of the division...

Leicester have approached Guus Hiddink apparently, but Lennon is 'being considered'.

Yep. I always wonder about these things. Along with "player ecruitment managers/directors".
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

It seems like the days of managers being given a budget, sending scouts out and then signing players are all but done (depending on the club at least). It now all seems to be handled at a level above, or independent of the manager, and they now just submit transfer targets to whoever is handling it. All of these directors only seem to have come about in the past few years too; I wonder what brought about this fad?
I reckon George Graham being caught with his hands in the till probably woke a few chairmen up.

If you were the manager of a club. Coaching the players, selecting tactics and responsible for results and some geezer wombles up to you and says "hey, hi ... I've just bought this guy for you" what would your reaction be if you didn't fancy the player?

Joining in a coaching/technical role somewhere apparently. Not as a manager.

Which goes back to the discussion about players, if he is going to be a coach will the new manager be happy or want to bring their own staff in.
