Seems he's utterly seen his arse over Jono Coleman's longtime assistant worrying if there will be a new contract at the end of the season. Has now escalated it to dividing the fans between chairman and manager – both of whom have been around for yonks and done loads for the club.

Watching a club tear itself apart in public, in real-time... it's both tragic and utterly absorbing.

Watching a club tear itself apart in public, in real-time... it's both tragic and utterly absorbing.

His argument seems to be he's paying £600K per year and has worked on the basis on long term loyalty with managers.

His manager and assistant having got the club relegated last season were publicly asking about new contracts towards the start of this season.

I can in fairness see his point.

He also makes a point that his view on managerial consistency and loyalty, and specifically managers feeling comfortable at clubs regardless, is no longer working in modern football and managers being under pressure or changed is bringing about results elsewhere and he feels it was his mistake not sacking them last season. But seeing as that's not his style its why he wants out for someone who can deal with modern realities to come in.

I think that airing this on social media is a bad thing. But lot of what he says is probably true. The game has moved on.

You'd have to imagine so. I think Derby last season were still overcoming the issues they had that led to their relegation. Now given they've had some time you'd imagine they'd be looking to expect a little more than middling performances after a season under Warne.

Last season they had an incredible period from October to February, but since then have been inconsistent.

Have to say I'm not as worried about a potential upsurge from Brizzle Rovers as Derby.

Warne: true, possibly, it could come good. But Derby seem to have thrown money at old men and crocks, and he's "lost the crowd". Word is their fans accuse him of ugly football and a small-club mentality, so maybe Ainsworth wouldn't be a good fit for Pride Park. But what his Loftus defenestration might do is close off Derby's chance of Warnock, who you imagine might fancy returning heroically to save his R's.

Good luck to Lincoln tonight. The Imps, who since firing Mark Kennedy a fortnight ago have risen from 16th to 8th by beating Fleetwood and Charlton before drawing at Exeter, host Oxford - who in the same timeframe have been held by Blackpool, lost to Wigan and needed a 96th-minute pen to hold Wycombe at home.

No other top-six teams playing, although Derby and Wycombe could tighten up the chasing pack just outside. Whatever happens, we will then have at least one game in hand on all other top-half teams.

HT: Oxford 1-0 up at Lincoln, but it seems a close game, so let’s see. Elsewhere, Derby battering Northampton 3-0, while Charlton are winning by the same score at Wigan, which we can file under amusing. Plus Wycombe 0-0 Cambridge.

Again, not League One, but they were last season. Interesting BBC piece (they do exist these days) about the success of McKenna's Ipswich, from which we may draw some succour – Evatt is cut from somewhat similar cloth. I had to laugh at the idea they didn't spend much money though.

Portsmouth currently 1-0 down at HT in the FA cup vs Chesterfield with our man SKD currently chatting on screen.

Just goes to show a well performing team can be hard to beat, no matter what league they're playing in. Tow men injured for Portsmouth. Hopefully this will go someway to derailing their league campaign.



Full time win for Chesterfield. Lovely upset. Surprising that it was a full strength Portsmouth side aswell.

I'm sure on any given day, there's always a chance you get beaten. But it really shouldn't a) happen very often, if you have Championship aspirations and b) should really be down to how well they've lifted their game as opposed to us being well off the pace. It only really becomes an annoyance, if it looked like we've put in a 60% shift.
