Co-owner David Sullivan has dismissed manager Allardyce's claims that 21-year-old playmaker Ravel Morrison is not part of his plans.

"We don't agree with that," Sullivan told Talksport. "We would like to sit down and give him a longer contract.

West Ham co-chairman David Gold has said he accidentally 'favourited' a derogatory tweet about manager Sam Allardyce.

Gold and David Sullivan retained Allardyce at the end of last season despite criticism from some fans over the style of football, and there had been renewed speculation his position was under threat.

But Gold tweets: "After a 33 hour flight from New Zealand, I was in my car scanning through my tweets and it seems I accidently favourited one.

"It has made some of the papers today so I should clarify that I did not and would never, deliberately or intentionally, endorse a tweet that questions our manager's position. Lesson: don't use twitter when you're jet lagged!"
