Not starting a Charlton thread yet, but just seen this on youtube. Food for thought for the weekend? Minus five temps for a week?

Still rumbling, this one. The Institute of Groundsmanship (whose HQ, one imagines, has a lovely lawn) has SLAMMED the decision and a Wanderers fan has started a petition to reinstate Ken Hare.Bruce Rioja wrote:I'd like to think that there is a bit more to this to be honest, Fella. Either way there's an obvious and understandable lack of detail. Maybe the club did over react, however they are likely to have some justification to sack someone after 27 years for an issue such as this. If not then I am sure the groundsperson will chase this legally.

I'm fairly sure over 50's can get a free perspective test on the NHS. I think you should request an appointment, although I fear it may already be too late.Hoboh wrote:Good job Trump ain't cracking these gags

The ref did the inspection at 1100 though the match was scheduled for 1500 and even Sunbed said he thought the pitch would have been playable at that time. If that's the case then I would imagine the groundsman has a good case as he obviously would have been preparing the ground for a 1500 kick-off. It may well be there are other underlying reasons, though the owner congratualted the ground staff for keeping the pitch good during previous bad weather spells. But time will tell. I do hope he gets his job back, or a bloody good payout.throwawayboltonian wrote:Yup, exactly - I'm just not trying to jump the gun one way or the other; how many times have we seen social media react to something without the full facts?Bruce Rioja wrote:I'd like to think that there is a bit more to this to be honest, Fella. As I said it's a risky move if they don't have solid reasoning to sack him, however it may also be a just sacking such as if he neglected to protect the pitch in the build up to the match. I'm just stunned at how many people are up in arms (even starting petitions) about this without possessing the full facts. The truth will come out eventually, either by way of legal case or the absence of one.

I happen to think that we're probably going to finish third, but I just thought that it's worth mentioning that Fleetwood are currently beating Sheffield United. If they manage to hold out for victory, or at least avoid defeat, then that technically puts the automatic promotion places back into our own hands.
