Bristol Rovers, only know one fan. He's a good lad.
Hoping for a good performance and hopefully all 3 points.

Well, we certainly need 3 points
6 points this week should be the target. Especially with Scunthorpe and Fleetwood facing off on Saturday
Gonna go 2-1 to us - Le Fondre off the mark with both

Think I prefer " Pirates" because of Bristol's fascinating seafaring history. Either way, it won't be a gas and I reckon we'll have to work at repelling boarders..

Not at all confident about the team in any game recently to be honest, so I can only hope that we can somehow win this and Parkinson can also somehow remember how to get a team to actually play attacking football on the floor for more than 5 minutes a game.
On another note if Parkinson plays Wilkinson again from the start, I think some supporters really will start to question him tactically....and not just me !

He didn't really have much in the way of choices, did he? Madine out before the off and in need of a big lad at point? We were away from home to the league leaders with a decimated team, so what were his options? We weren't really very well equipped for a Barcelona demo, were we? Spearing missing and fragile at the back. More a case of damage limitation and hope for the breaks that we didn't really get. Or did you see it entirely differently..?Peter Thompson wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2017 4:33 pmOn another note if Parkinson plays Wilkinson again from the start, I think some supporters really will start to question him tactically....and not just me !

Personally I would have played Long instead of Wilkinson onSat, but he might of been carrying that injury to be fair to PP. Whatever the Madine cover up is covering up we will never know.
Anyway onwards, lets do the business to tonight. I would like to see a 4-4-2 with Wabara / Taylor at full back, Spearing / Vela centre mid, Henry and Phil on the wings, Long and Le Fondre up top. I suspect I will be wrong! I expect Madine to make a miraculous recovery, Alf shoehorned in and Taylor to play. Not sure if he will stick to 352 or go back to 4231.

BN: Iles thinks changes may be afoot. "Reece Wabara could be handed a debut after undergoing extra training sessions on Sunday alongside Chris Long, Andy Taylor and captain Jay Spearing, who returns from suspension... Gary Madine is still a doubt for tonight with the illness which saw him withdrawn from the squad just 90 minutes before kick-off on Saturday."
Parky: “Ben (Alnwick) had the virus and Gaz picked it up. He wasn’t well Friday night, we gave him medication, then again on Saturday morning, but when we got to the ground we didn’t feel he was able to play. It is a shame because Sheffield United feared Gary. Until I get the doctor’s report I don’t know how long he’ll be out.”
Also under that link: "Parkinson called his players and staff in for a meeting on Monday to try and highlight some of the problems which have emerged in the last couple of weeks." There's PP quotes about it.

Anyone know why our game kicks off at 8pm whilst every other L1 game starts at 19.45.??

Summat to do with the retail park not wanting footie types clogging up the car park. There are all manner of silly bylaws which were introduced by good-doers at the time when it was all put together, which are now a little embarrassing.jonnycooper wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2017 12:16 pmAnyone know why our game kicks off at 8pm whilst every other L1 game starts at 19.45.??

Somewhat Interesting Fact: Only twice in our last 10 games has the team who scored first won. In the 19 games before that, the team who scored first always won (there were no draws).

You know, I was just thinking about how putting us on against a side from Bristol on a Tuesday night tells me that football really couldn't give a figgy 4uck about the supporters, then I noticed that Newcastle are away at Brighton. They must be delirious.

We go to repel boarders in daffodil yellow. Not really authentic pirate gear, but apparently they've brought a fair few hardy souls from down there in the southern half. All ready and....oh, we go to Bury....
Right, that out of the way, let's go....

Goalie to goalie here and....oh, and Bury score....reet.
Bit of back and forth then back to Ben. Throw to them, and then we get a deep free kick that Ben will take. And....it's goalie to goalie again. Not much Barca stuff yet but we go via Vela and...Spearing, Vela....and a throw to them. Bit of pressure from us there then we break and .....mic man thought Henry may have been fouled....but no. Big Dave gives a free away near mid field. We clear and....Henry ...Long....and.....it's 1-0
