Amazing to find a team unbeaten in eighteen games and promotion contenders in a fixture like this playing in front of a crowd of just 5123 souls. I thought I'd read it wrong at first. I'm quite happy to say well done and tip the hat to Fleetwood and Rossler for what they've achieved. Pretty remarkable.

Didn't see that coming at all....it was a total shock and I couldn't believe what I was seeing, game / atmosphere was strange it was like watching a non league game.

Shocked when the team was announced before the game with Pratley & Karacan named - Pratley made a huge difference with his energy in midfield, Fleetwood passed it around for fun in midfield hence the 60% possession, but we looked dangerous every time we went forward. The back 4 where very good, including Dervite & Andy Taylor was absolutely outstanding he was organising everything in front of him. Madine & ALF linked up well and everyone played well (Morais again outstanding) apart from Derik who was simply awful the whole game and he gave the ball away needlessly for both Fleetwood goals....

Pratley made a big difference in midfield though, but it was a good professional performance and we could have had more - no negativity from PT today....I haven't stopped smiling since 4.50pm yesterday.

Only a little ground, Tango. Wiki have the ground capacity at 5327 and record attendance at 5194.

Son of a bitch...

Why can't we have ONE game where everything goes right for a change?

But oh no, lets throw in an injury or a suspension just to take the shine off

Good job Dervite is back then...

🙀
He's not included in the FA suspensions list. I presume this is because the 5 cautions rule ceases to apply after November.

How many were you expecting them to fit into a ground that holds just over 5,000, Tango? :conf:

Never having been in Fleetwood's ground, I had no idea what the ground capacity was. I was amazed to find it so small, as I said.

Nor have I but chat on here regarding the tiny ticket allocation and the fact that they were a pub side until a few years ago gave me a general indication. Anyway, as you were..........

A fantastic and surprising result!

Hats off to everyone. No passengers and whilst I think Pratley is a bit dung generally, he gave us a much needed lift!

Always good to see Rosler get a spanking and his face refletcing it, the wanker

Hopefully the catalyst for another good run of results

Over the years, Parky's results have been streaky as feck, so statistically, no reason to suggest we won't..

Last season he only won two of his first 10 league games, leaving them 19th. They won six of the next eight, lifting them to 7th.

In 2014/15 they started OK with three wins in the first five, but only won two in the next 11 (losing six of them). Then they won five in the next seven (drawing the other two).

In 2013/14, freshly promoted, their first 10 games went W6 D3 L1 - by October 5th they were fourth. Then they won one (and drew 11) of their next 20, tumbling to 13th.

So yeah, streaky.
And lo, it came to pass. Unlike some midfielders.

Looked at positively, we started the season with 7 unbeaten matches, then from Oct to NY won 11 out of 13. And we're now on a run of one defeat (to the champions-elect) in the last 8.

Looked at negatively, we had a run from 27 Aug to 1 Oct of W0 D4 L3, ie 4 points out of 21. We started 2017 with 2pts from 4 games and, before lovely old Saturday, had got just 3pts from the last 4 games.

Back on the original thread, LeverEnd said let's hope the good 'uns outlast the bad 'uns. Seems to be the way so far. Marc Iles, bless him, keeps mentioning that we're ahead of the points total collected by Rioch's team 24 years ago, but that team's last 18 results were WWWDWWWDDWWWLWWWWW. I don't think we'll need that sort of run because the pace isn't as hot – after 36 games, Fleetwood have 64 points, whereas at this point that season Port Vale had 69 (and were second, as they remained until the final week; like then, a red-and-white striped team were steaming out of sight atop the league). Back then, in our last 11 games we had to make up seven points on Vale (who'd played a game more). Now it's just one.

Apart from Sheffield, we've not lost to a team higher placed than 9th. Walsall (9th), Oxford (10th), Rochdale (11th), Peterborough (12th), Charlton (14th), Swindon (22nd), Chesterfield (23rd) - which is great, because we only have two games left against teams higher than 9th... :-(

On that 1993 Division Three table: worth noting that half the teams in that division have subsequently played top-flight football...
