Despite the dislike from some on here, I think Brown is a very good manager indeed. His record at Hull was exceptional and forgotten only because he was a bit of a show off. But as a manager, forgetting whether you like that style or not, I think he's very good. And what a cracking job he's done at Southend. Similar to the one Parky did at Bradford.

In fact Parky, Brown, Allardyce all similar managerial traits. All good at man management and building a spirit. All seem to produce streaky teams that look dead as a dodo one minute then a few games later go on runs of form out of nowhere. All have that sort of characteristic where you always feel, if given time they'll turn a situation round. Allardyce obviously exceptional compared to the other two, but I think there are some consistent threads across the three. Allardyce also developed the knack (after some early managerial disasters) of getting teams over the line when it counts. I hope Parky has that knack about him, we'll find out.

Evening Bolton people. We're really looking forward to your visit on Tuesday night, it's a shame we couldn't have got this game over that very frozen line in January as you would probably have had more supporters at the Hall on a Saturday afternoon and our then groundsman would have been happier but there you go.
Areet, Fella. I take it that the guy didn't get his job back then? Looked way harsh from here. Was there more to it?

He didn't get his job back and the National Groundmens Association took up his case. I reckon it will end up as an unfair dismissal case but the club aren't issuing any form of info on it. Sad really as the guy had been with us for over 20 years.

Looking at getting the train to Prittlewell and stopping at the Railway Tavern for a quick pint. Decent pub / away-friendly? Thanks!

Minor change of plan. Southend Central, few pints by the sea then a wander up.

I've just got on the train to Southend. Won't get there until just after 7pm. Too late for a pint?

I see that Ranger's playing. I think this'll be only the 2nd time this season that I've known an opposing player. The other one was Konchesky btw

Sounds like they have a few changes?

Scabby 1-0 win, free kick hoisted into the box by Moxey that evades everyone as they all fall over Wheaters bell end, straight in. Moxey the new messiah.
