Madine and Karacan start. Derik on bench, Pratley out
Now we'll see if the "Madine legend" is true or not. Need to give them a good quality thrashing and avoid injury. 8)
Apparently it is.

At least a 0-0 will do for us next week.

Great here, not brilliant at Gillingham, but we can't affect other games. 2-0 is very nice thank you and we can't do beter than three points.. And.....Alf goes, they clear....mic man talks of craziness and Eagles and Thomas leave the fray. Atmosphere has gone dead is the claim. We sally forth and....Henry and....cleared. Morais now and...Vela and cleared. Taylor, Derik etc. What a sickener that Fleetwood result, but fair play to them for fighting. Gigg Lane. 3-0 up as Vaughan seals a good win.

Well, they'll be up against the best defence in the league.

Port Vale still have a chance to get out of their relegation fight. They have a game in hand and go again on Tuesday whilst being 4 points behind Gillingham

I seem to remember winning promotion at Port Vale in the dim and distant past. Anyone else? From this division i think.
Nah, wasn't it technically 96-97 under Todd?
They were our first opponents of the 96/97 hundred-goal season; we sold Curcic a few days before.

I reckon Will's thinking of the 1973 visit.

I think that's right. Absolutely massive turnout of Trotters fans...

Lots of nothing going in the mic box as the game winds down ( 8000 something of a crowd of which half was faitful). They have a long ranger than Howard spills onto a post, then Beevers and some more chat. Morais goes, Derik, Taylor....defended, back by Beevers and...Vela now, Morais, Wheater, Beevers, Wheater.....as 4 mins added are announced. A wallop from Howard, some to and fro and some more mic bx chat. Morais goes, he waits, we go back and now Alf, Vela, Beevers, Taylor and Madine goes down. He's done his bit today nd Vale are still trying. Morais goes and mic man chats about a draw las t game being enough for our promotion. Vela clears, ref takes a deep breath and....Wilkinson arrives for Gary Madine and I raise my Estrella to the lads. :oyea: Well done lads, 2-0 and all over..... :oyea: :oyea: :oyea:

Bitter sweet. Almost a thank god we got the result. 0-0 next week should do it, which is worrying.

The last time I was this nervous was when I was listening into five live in the Falklands and we had to beat Middlesbrough to stay up.

Get Madine in that bubble wrap.

Let's hope Peterborough have an off day. Fleetwood could have an equally hard game if Vale see a chance of avoiding relegation. I'm getting a case of Spitfire in and a bottle of rum for next week. Celebrate or drown me sorrows.
Thanks TD 8)

Great result. Avoided Pru's pitch invasion and Boris arse. Shame in a way, about Feetwood but not too unhappy.
