I seem to remember winning promotion at Port Vale in the dim and distant past. Anyone else? From this division i think.

Nah, wasn't it technically 96-97 under Todd?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

They were our first opponents of the 96/97 hundred-goal season; we sold Curcic a few days before.

I reckon Will's thinking of the 1973 visit.

I've just set off from south London. I feel incredibly nervous. :(

The FlannersWagon turns up in 10 minutes.

I haven't been to Vale in 25 years. Last time was August 1992, a League Cup second leg. Lovely sunny summer evening. Rob Palmer (now Sky's main Spain commentator, then a minor voice on Granada) was wandering round the pitch before the game in leather slip-on shoes. We got a few BWFC players to sign our homemade flag, still got it somewhere; Stubbsy was one of them, even uglier close up.

Anyway, just as with Will's 1973 visit, we got what we needed (a 1-1 draw, Andy Walker's goal giving us a 3-2 aggregate) and left happy. Let's hope for the same today. Enjoy, have fun, be safe, COYWM.

I've never seen us win at Vale. Which seems odd given our excellent record against them.

Just got on the train. On my own as Tony's paid an extra fiver for first class. The flash bastard.

Undies on. Lucky coin thrown in the river. Sacrificial goat slaughtered.

One nil to Bolton. Fleetwood draw. S'all goodman.

Now we'll see if the "Madine legend" is true or not. Need to give them a good quality thrashing and avoid injury. 8)
