Turn it on now Whites...come on, we can do it....Wallop and ref gives Madine nothing as he gets mugged. Armstrong gets an early touch then....the homers upsets mic man with a free kick award for falling over the ball. Now we have a fee.....and then one back for them. Is this ref biased....? Goal kick us....

Bit more bite to the team with the replacements. Struggling to keep hold of the ball and still reluctant to play it to feet when going forward.

Us, them, wallop, wallop and mic man thinks the game might be petering out....Nah, they sally at us again and...we get it and break. Mic man mumbling about Chelsea...then Morais, Cullen, Jem, Morais.....and...we get a throw. Morais throws, then sets off...Dervite and we get mugged again and....Wallace is offside. Come on lads......they make a sub; Fred for Ferfuson.

Come on ...come on.....they sally, and wallop one over. Goal kick us and....ten to go...Burke sounds to really be doing well but gets a knock. Free kick us....and...an end-to-ender wastes it. Back they come, we clear and go. Pratley getting good words from mic man? They sally, then retreat....and look to bring on Elliot for Gregory. Pratley and Dervite clear. Willbraham coming on for Madine. COME ON YOU WHITES.....

Panic-fanny or just fanny?
C'mon Whites, I'm (also) getting twitchy now...

Just a fanny. Body should be on the line for the team.

Burke slides in, they get a throw, we clear....and McLaughlin gets a yellow for a challenge on Karajan. Morais with a long free kick and.....and....Willbraham....cleared....Mortais again....Dervite......Cullen and.....keeper.

Dervite can do one for me. Talk about reverting to type.

Clearly playing for a point. Good enough?

Some scores, a throw, Morrison....and Burke defends " sensationally"..? Time passing on and (9 man Chelsea make it 2-3) throw us and.....and...they sally and Taylor get a yellow for a challenge on Morrison. And....cleared....offside gives us a free kick. Big wallop now and....we get a throw.....and......Millwall get a mysterious free kick? (mic man) Four mins added as Willbraham get a free kick for us. Morais to take and....cleared for a throw. And....and....cleared and....a throw us deep down our end....Come on lads, one last sally and....Dervite....Armstrong...lose it, Dervite wallops and home fans giibber as Fred dives for glory. And.....Burks clears. Throw them and......in , out, shot and....Howard spills a save for a corner. Come on Whites.....be strong now....and....we clear. and it ends 1-1....could be worse...

Hmm. Hope we don't regret this over the coming month of much more difficult fixtures. Better in the second half but we still missed forward intention from the midfield trio - the Vela runs.
Could have been a lot worse. Could still get a lot better.

Good point IMO - but Parkinson is such a negative / defensive minded manager.
What's the point of signing a creative player like Buckley if he doesn't play him - we need an attack minded coach in Parkinson's set up, otherwise we'll get this every game. We have better players now capable of playing more attack minded passing attacking football - Cullen, Buckley, Armstrong, Morais but the 1st thought is still to pass the ball sideways or backwards & then aimless hoof to Madine....this must be how they are told to play by Parkinson.
He's obviously created a great team spirit and the team play for each other and don't give in which is great, but he sets the team up so defensively at the start its like playing with one arm tied behind your back....we play much better when he takes the shackles off and lets the team attack....like most 2nd half's.

I didn't go to the game so can't comment on how we played, but I think after going a goal down, I will take a draw. Look forward to reading what the match goers write?

We are playing 3 at the back without a proper bona fide defensive midfield player and two out and out strikers up front. I'd hardly say we are setup negatively. Buckley doesn't fit in this system all that well, especially away from home.Peter Thompson wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2017 5:53 pmGood point IMO - but Parkinson is such a negative / defensive minded manager.

Morais will improve it when he's fit enough. I'd say we actually could do with shoring up a bit. We won't outplay many if any in this league. We will need to outdefend a fair few.
It's a good point. Yes, on paper it looks like we needed to win, but the way the game went a point was a good return.

Good point. From what I've read and heard about this game, it still feels like we aren't at our best, so any points we pick up are good ones. When Morais can play 90 minutes, the central defence have played a few games together, we have sorted out defensive midfield (sounds like that area improved today??), and have figured out how to get the midfield to link better with the strikers, then we will be there. Whether that will be good enough to stay up is another question...

Indeed. We are putting teams together out of necessity right now not choice. It's been a tough start in terms of injuries and fixtures.bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2017 8:13 pmGood point. Remember we are one of the favourites to go down. Every away point is a good one.
