Not just a point but sounds like we competed and were well worth it. Match goers, how much did we rely on Nadine?

Back from the game, some quick points, I don't have time for a more thorough write up:

1.) If I was to score the match on points it would be BWFC 5.5, Birmingham 4.5.
2.) Very few chances in the game for either team. Howard reacted well to save a deflected shot in the first half, we only really had half chances. Madine forced the keeper to save, Armstrong had two efforts wide, a near post header, and a low shot from about 20 yards after he had created some space for himself. Pratley also fired wired when the ball was cleared out to him.
3.) Our defence was solid. Burke again was the stand out performer. He is quality both defending and with the ball at his feet, and will play in the Prem. Dervite and Beevers did nothing wrong also.
4.) Morais played 90mins and played well and made a big difference. He was always an outlet, and put loads of crosses into the box, and had as many blocked by their left back. We have another dimension when he is playing.
5.) The midfield played in a rigid formation with Cullen in the middle, Pratley on the right and Karacan on the left. They all defended well and probably all had 7/10 games. We kept and passed the ball really well for periods of this game.
6.) Armstrong offered a bit more than ALF does. He covers more ground, can run better with the ball, and gets into more areas between their defence and midfield. That coupled with the fact that we showed more courage on the ball, and were prepared to try and keep the ball in tight situations meant that we looked a lot more fluent, and we did have an alternative to the Madine directed punt. We still did quite a bit of that though.
7.) Birmingham defended well, but in the attacking areas were very, very poor. To the extent it is hard to know if that wasn't 2 points dropped.
8.) It is good to see improvement and progression. I would wager this was our most polished performance this season so far. The only thing missing was someone who could do something to create a clear chance or score a goal. That is the concern I have for us if we were to repeat this performance going forward. We would match many teams in this league, but how many goals would we score, and how many games would we win? Without a dose of quality and ruthlessness the answer to both might be "not too many".

That is the concern. When things settle down, I have no question we can compete. But where are the goals coming from consistently? Perhaps Armstrong will get going and bag a few. Vela is a huge miss in this regard? We have three non scoring midfield players.
