They're a good side with a good manager but then so are we. 2-1 win

Win and its a good start.
Lose and it isnt.
We'll probably draw!
Hopefully Morais back at home (on the narrower pitch) makes a difference. Be nice to see Buckley used as well, presumably in the Vela role?

Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....
On paper they are better, and could field two sides better than our best. However, games aren't played on paper yada yada...
Going to go for an optimistic 1-0 hard fought victory for us.
Are we not having these threads in the Trotters forum as well btw? It seems there have been less comments than normal in this one thus far and the Birmingham one, which could be coincidental that they were the first ones to appear exclusively in the "Match threads" forum, or it might not be....

Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....
As already said, a win would point at a great start to the season, but I just can;t see it - Best we can hope for is that they have an off day and we get a draw - Would love a win, but just can't see it

Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....
I would love a win against Derby, we have been improving with every game, seem to have a little bit more confiedence, but can't see us beating them. We still need a defensive midfield player, so will go for a hard fought draw
Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....
By the way, Bristol Wanderer I am of the same opinion as you, I would rather these threads be in the Trotters Forum

I've only just realised that the match threads had been moved, I wondered on Tuesday why no one was bothering.
Needs moving back to the main forum ASAP....

As per requests ( and hoping our site owner doesan't mind) I've moved this thread over from the Match thread site site and locked that one.

Youngest daughter and grandaughter are visiting this afternoon so not sure how much of the match I'll hear. Just in case I'll post an early COME ON YOU WHITES.....
Hoping for three points, but a point is a point so......

Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....
Anything less than 3 points and it's already looking like a long, hard season. A draw would give us 2 points from a possible 9, with 2 of those games having been at home. That isn't getting us anywhere near safe.
Sadly, I'm going for 1-1 and I suspect that might be optimistic.
On another note, I fancied going today. At £28 they can fro. That's a scandalous amount of money for Championship footie IMO.

Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....
I also managed to miss Birmingham game as there was no thread on't 'TRotters'.
But, breaking with tradition ain't necessarily a bad thing.
We have a new(?) 'match thread' forum... I don't have a problem retraining my brain to go there if that's what our resident web-guru (s) prefer?
My tuppence anyhow
Head says draw for today (and fortunate at that), heart says 2-1. COYW

Oh yeah, P.S...
Dear Tango,
Really appreciate your match commentaries, thank you.
Will miss it today but have a great day with your family - guess they can have you the odd Saturday afternoon (but not too often please:)

Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....
But isn't this how we always start. We don't want to make it too easy for ourselves. It'll be reet by Christmas!

Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....
That wasn't bad, that was absolutely fcuking awful!!
It should have been 4-0 Derby. Vydra ran through our defense on to a through ball and should have scored. Wisdom ran unchallenged from the half way line into our box and should done better.
I've never seen a team with so much of the ball and do so little with it. Derby let us play in our own half with little pressure and we still made it look difficult.
Maxine has won 2 from about 15 long punts. Armstrong doesn't look interested. Midfield aren't protecting the back 3 or supporting the front 2. We've got absolutely nowhere near the Derby goal.
Derby look like they are playing in a training match.
That was very bad.

Re: A visit from the Pride without Prejudice....
This is absolutely woeful. No pressure on the ball, no forward movement, shocking defending; the ball gets into midfield, where upon the midfielders either blindly pass it back into defence, or look up and, seeing no movement ahead of them, pass it back into defence. Either way it gets lumped to Madine, who fails to win it. Or should I say, lumped in the direction of Madine. Not a single positive from that 45.
