Brighton is fab.

We should get proper pies, proper beer, keep ST prices the same but give everyone (/all ST holders) a free pie and a pint. Loosen everyone up.

I suspect pies and ale will be chosen on whatever will make the most money (up front or as percentage), but that's not to say making it work isn't worth investigating. Brighton have made great strides in this department recently, and now many of their fans actually go to the stadium to meet up (rather than, say, the King Bill).

Sadly, D.S.B, the old King William IV, (the King Bill), venue of many a pre-match pint before grabbing a hot dog from those stainless steel vendor carts at the Lever End, has been Minerva Print at King William House since 1999. Again that flying time....

Last year's League One ticket prices, from the BBC (much more under that link, including other divisions and pie/programme/shirt prices).



Bradford cut their adult ST prices from £199 to £149. They sold 18,000+ STs overall, which isn't bad considering their average crowd the season before – when they reached the playoffs and beat Chelsea in the FA Cup - was 13,353. Their average this season is second only to Sheffield United.

See, if the club the club actually sold decent quality pies that don't require the end-user to wash it down with 1 cwt of Zantac then I, and I suspect many more, would be prepared to buy one once in a while.

Haha. A bloke in Portugal who I deal with came over to learn / improve his English at The Foreign Language Centre at the University of Brighton. One of his key deciders was that he'd looked at a map and seen that it was on the coast. He told me the tale of how on his first visit to the beach he saw (and some 30+ odd years on his face recoils in as much horror now as I imagine it did then, and with arms aloft at that goalscorer's angle) "GREAT BIG STONES"

As my youth has deserted me I've had to resort to buying my own dressing gown, in a fetching duck egg blue.

I meant the away day, although the town seemed v nice when we were there (though that pavilion is bobbins).

Was a cracking away day. Several hours in the afternoon sat outside some lovely pubs, free train up to the ground where they had wainwrights on tap and they changed all the little logos to bwfc. 90 mins of getting played off the park before David N'Gog popped up with a 90th minute equaliser. Free train back. Crayons' sister lives in Brighton so we got fed, and then back into town for some more beers at some more lovely pubs as we watched the hen parties go by before the last train home. Splendid.

Huddersfield done same as Bradford for next season. Sold huge numbers of ST. If we aren't prepared to risk something similar then I'd make the first home game a quid in. Hopefully a win and a few goals along with good atmosphere might tempt more back. The main issue isn't cost, its the dross on show. Recent £15 games have not bright in any more fans. For me, I begrudge contributing to the wages of the players who don't care so I tend to stick to away games. Cost is not my main issue, but uncompetitive family tickets for under 5 and the rip off car park are other factors that stop me attending home games. Train is no better with shambolic organisation if the away team bring large numbers. Unless something changes, I can see me going to most away games next year but giving the macron a wide birth.
