I don't know if Reid's ppg is far better than I expected because he's much better than I think, or the past few years have made even 1ppg look like a roaring success.

Warnock left Rotherham because he only wants 1 more season managing, and they wanted him to sign a longer contract but he wouldn't commit to more than a year.

He also said he wants to have a chance of winning a record 8th career promotion. Might not be everyone's cuppa but that's some achievement. I'd sign him up tomorrow but there's no way he'd come.

Ghe one single advantage being that, by the sound of it, it'd only be for one season !!

I'm warming to it

He can have the last season of widespread overpayment (tho his successor might still have Pratley and Amos)

All aboard the Warnock express!!

Next stop Championship, where this train terminates.

Also in a very select band of managers: those who lose to Bolton in 2015/16...

I guess a player-manager WOULD save some cash! :D
Id prefer him to pratley!

As many as are linking us with Neil Whatmore, and with good reason.

I've heard we're considering a management duo again - Neil Down and Ben Dover

One season where we could easily go down again if we get the wrong manager... again... or get deducted 12 points. A short term appointment sounds like a good plan to me, especially one who specialises in them.
The following year is when we can get someone to start building long term when we've finally shed most of the overpaid shite. Except amos and Pratley, as DSB correctly but depressingly pointed out.
Anyway Warnock won't come so it's moot.

I know people are going to backlash and say "no we need a manager who knows the league inside and out" however, can we please acknowledge Heckingbottom's achievements so far with Barnsley. 3 losses from 21 games in charge, and manage to put 6 past walsall in two legs.

im getting sick and bored waiting for a new manager. Honestly don't care who takes over right now even if its reid, Redfearn or even JP. Any manager that can get us up straight away ill be satisfied

In this morning's paper, Iles reckons KenDean will interview four next week. He's not quite sure who they are but suggests:
Peter Reid
Nigel Adkins
Neil Redfearn
Steve Thompson

The lesser-known Tomo, our midfield pass-master under Phil Neal, has been Grayson's No.2 at PNE.

Important to note that Redfearn and Thompson contacted Bolton. Iles doesn't know if they are being interviewed or not. Just that 4 are being interviewed. And 2 of them are Reid and Adkins.

Adkins has previous with Anderson.

Well, we're not even sure of that:
The Bolton News understands Dean Holdsworth and Ken Anderson will speak to four men about stepping into the role and end a drawn-out search for the next Whites boss.

Peter Reid will be one of the men considered, having worked with the players for the last few months alongside Jimmy Phillips. And there is a strong suggestion Nigel Adkins, who was sacked by Sheffield United just a week ago, is another man interesting the Whites’ ownership.

Ex-Wanderers Neil Redfearn and Steve Thompson have also been considered, although it is not known whether they have made the interview shortlist.
Adkins' "previous" with Anderson is that he was the manager at Southampton and Reading when Kenneth was involved in takeovers.

Laughable journalism from Iles as usual - how on earth is he still in a job.

He doesn't have a clue whether they are interviewing 4 or whether any of the 4 names above are even in the frame....Iles is an absolute muppet
