The clause isn't active in this league apparently so we are in the clear.Worthy4England wrote:The Spearing one surprises me. High wages and that thing where we had to stop playing him.
As below I think Spearing is pretty essential this year.

Aye, agree on his performances. Just surprised me, money-wise.

Its a relief that we're not obliged to accept any old crap offer. Pratley and Dervite being injured and therefore meaning we have to pay them at least up to the next transfer window must be straining the finances

Out of contract? Type we need. Think he's a billy big bollocks though. Might see us as beneath him.plymouth wanderer wrote:I'd offer Junior Hoilett a contract! lost his way in the last few years. massive promise a few years ago! still only 26, and still hasn't been snapped up! lads lighting quick!

Yep. worth a shot though! always thought he was a good player 4-5 years back! still only 26 and has ties to the area and a position we desperately need- makes sense.

Being 4 from 4 and a manager who talks sense will make us waaaay more attractive for players ... signings or loans.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

thought that would be quite amusing....

Do we have the budget for £11k a week (possibly if we get rid of Amos? Dervite? However, the winger will earn less than a quarter of the £42,000-a-week he earned over the last four years if he re-signs (for QPR).
The player has flitted in and out of team since his move from Blackburn in the summer of 2012, where he was frequently the best player in Rovers Premier League starting XI.
Pfffft.

No. And not should we be offering any new player that sort of money.TKIZ! wrote:From the London Standard on 16th July 2016:plymouth wanderer wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Out of contract? Type we need. No doubt league would raise eyebrows during the approval process.

Apparently the Daily Mail says Brighton, Cardiff and LatestCoyleVirusSufferersBlackburn have "enquired" about Jay "Spearo" Spearing. Hopefully Parky and Ken are sticking to their opinion on keeping hold of our best players, and hopefully the stand-in skipper will be happy to stay.

Ken Anderson's lad been tweeting.
Says Vela and Spearing aren't going anywhere and we have several potential incomings on the go including two 'big ones'.
Asked if we will sign Le Fondre and he says we want 'better' than him.

Not sure if Le Fondre did anything last season ... just checked; 3 in 28 on loan to Wolves. But at age 29 and a natural instinct for goals it'd be a good Un who'd be judged "better".

Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
BN says we've got bids in for a striker and a defender. PP:
We may have to create spaces but we’re not in any mad rush to do that.We want to add to the quality of what we’ve got but we might have to be patient, it might have to go to the wire.
Certain players we’re speaking to, year-long loans from Premiership clubs, those clubs are not quite ready to release them yet. We have just got to sit tight and make sure we get someone who can really improve that starting XI.
Myself, Ken and Lee (Anderson) discussed potential targets right at the very start and, more or less, they are still in play.
I like when you sign a young player on loan when there’s a chance somewhere down the line that you can make it permanent. I think that’s the best scenario.
We are looking at situations like that, we may not get one of them, we might well do, but we’ve still got players in our own squad that haven’t featured yet and who are desperate to get involved.

Suspect he's readying for a legal dispute with Ken. Or perhaps just prepared to let things run their course for the good of the club? Hopefully the latter.throwawayboltonian wrote:So is Spearing, he's like a manletLeverEnd wrote:He's a midget by parky standards. No chance.but he's finally found his form again. I'm curious about the defender and striker; certainly two areas that we could do with strengthening, but I am concerned about our lack of width.
And I note that Holdsworth does not appear to be involved in the negotiations or scouting at all. Is he just a shareholder now? I know he stepped back as DoF but he's slinked off into the shadows with no trace.
I like Deano but we might be thankful that Ken got his way based on what we've seen so far.
