Definitely Olkowski's worst game for us. Hope it is a one off, we have enough problems elsewhere.

2nd half was worse than the 1st. Well beaten in the end. Noone, Ozzy, Buckley are not close to being good enough. We have enough of the ball, but once it gets to the final third it all breaks down. Ozzy had one of the worst games I have seen an attacking midfielder have. Gave it away, a non-entity defensively, hardly had the ball in the final third, ended up dropping deep and could barely hold onto it there. Needs to be on the bench now. Ireland and Ameobi if we can keep them fit are the only hope.

Interesting the commentator mentioned a "local consortium" interested in buying us. Anyone know anything about this?
Honestly don't get this negativity towards Otz. Thought he looked decent tbh and whipped a great ball in for the chance they cleared off the line.
He’s not very good. Modern day Riga. First touch then feck all.

Didn’t think we played badly tonight but the lack of end product is incredibly worrying. Parky has tried every combination and none are able to rustle up a goal.
I really disagree.

That was really tough to watch. I think we competed fine, it was broadly even over the game. Two teams lacking in quality hoping the ball bounced right in the box. At one point they took off 50kpw Chelsea player Tammy Abraham for their £14m striker. They brought on £25m
loanee Bolasie. Week in week out we compete against that disparity.

Yet for all that they were really poor too, and basically had a ringer in net. Lost track of how many times I heard "[Bolton player name] goes down looking for the free kick". We look beaten before we start.

We don't have the quality and it doesn't look line Parky can get it out of them. Rationally speaking I don't think we have a hope in hell of getting a better manager. I think his hands are tied and he's done a great job. I don't think he can keep us up but I also think he's the best bet to get us back to and maybe build and keep us up again. But there's always a part that wonders if new ideas might scrape us up again. And you can't run a football club for the next nine months planning to go down and bounce back. Presumably the dice gets rolled at some point.

We look like a side of misfits really, which I suppose is what you get if you have such limited choice in the transfer market. Individually the players don't look terrible, but we've tried all sorts of combinations to get a decent 11 out of them and none are working. I guess that's what happens when you spend most of the time shopping picking up what's left in the bargain bin rather than planning ahead and choosing the right sort of players to fit in the squad.

We have done all season, they play like a team of strangers who have never played or trained together before.

They played ok in spells last night and moved the ball quicker & better without any end product, but ultimately its another defeat & another game without a goal....the team is toothless and look beaten before a ball is kicked, and this keep making 5 changes every game is absolute madness from Parkinson, absolute desperation from a manager who does not have a clue where the next goal or win is coming from.

One more game for Parkinson, lose against Swansea and he simply has to go....no more shite excuses from himself or the bullshitting bottleless chairman....surely its time for someone else (whoever that may be) to at least have a go and see whether they can get anything better from the players.

I'm gonna sound like a broken record but ... if only we'd kept ALF.

If only PP could have persuaded him that he'd have more game time (which he would have done as big Josh has now been dropped).

Doidge came on last night, was put through on goal but his awful touch killed it. At the moment he doesn't look Championship standard.

And we just cannot score in a month of Sundays. I called it a drought a few games back but probably didn't expect it to become THIS bad.

We were very unlucky with the goal line clearance last night, but our strikers need to step up. I thought Donaldson did really well holding the ball up and he's full of pace and energy for such an old guy. But in the main I can't see our strikers scoring more than 10 combined over a full season at this rate.

OK, so you’ve just sacked Parky! Now give the name of just one available manager who you think would realistically come to Bolton AND do a better job with the limited resources available?

Just a word after the ball was over, but the ref seemed just a tad kind to the home boys in handing out favours. That large loutish person with the lack of folicles atop got away with murder with his well-concealed pushes in Donaldson's back and ref-man was also a wee bit quicker than Brett Maverick with the card tricks. It doesn't excuse our performance at times, but it's so easy to get a reputation for cheating that many a genuine incident gets waved away. In retrospect I'd have started with Mac and swapped for Donaldson later. Ah well, "tomorrow is another day" she said..... :|

Bristol City just published their books. £24m loss last year. Wages are 125% of income. They've lost £94m over the last six years.

And they're 11th.

This league is mad.

Not Parky's fault. he's not on the pitch week after week playing like a 7 year old. Whilst he might be limited as a coach and have his hands tied financially, the players - to a man - need to take responsibility for this. They are better than they are currently playing and need to quickly step up....
Parkinsons team selection seems to be similar to when Freedman was here. PP an do one, he's had his day.

I mean, if I could predict which managers are going to be successful in different situations, I'd be a millionaire. But for the sake of discussion (with career win % added, Parky's is 37.9% across 720 games)...

Mick McCarthy (38.8% from 965)
Steve Bruce (38.5% from 886)
Danny Cowley (54.2% from 192)
Kevin Nolan (42.4% from 99)
Mark Warburton (55.3% from 197)
Nigel Pearson (41.8% from 457)
Simon Grayson (41.8% from 648)
David Moyes (42.1% from 919)

Now, here's the part where everyone says that x wouldn't take it, y would force them to cut up their season ticket and they'd rather give Parky a ten year deal than give it to z. But all of those have shown themselves to be competent football managers at different points, and wouldn't be terrible choices if we've given up on Parky (which I haven't, yet). We could always also just follow everyone else and find a random German to take it.

I'm not a "Parky out" supporter; he's done an amazing job given the pitfalls (massive) but if he ever did go I'd just absolotely love Kev Nolan to bring his supersonic hairdrying technique back to Bolton. He loved it here and never wanted to leave. He'd be the one for me. :oyea:

The question is of those mainly reasonable names how many have shown they can work with a lack of quality players in a league of overspending and no money?

Because Bruce has a decent record at this level but always with some cash to spend.

McCarthy is the obvious name but I struggle to see what he gets out of the players that Parky doesn’t.

Ken has published his latest thoughts:

"What is clear to see is that the players are right behind the manager and want to succeed not only for the club and fans but also for him and the staff.

"Therefore, I want to put to an end any suggestion about an immediate managerial change."

I think Parky is trying to evolve how we play. He has said recently words to the effect that we need to become a proper Championship side this season. I guess we need to patient, even if it is hard when we consistently lose and don't score. The one area that is lacking is the movement of the front three when we have the ball imho. Noone showed last night with his 2nd half shot, that he does have some ability in the final third, but he is always stuck out wide in a fixed position. Donaldson runs the channels, there are opportunities for Noone and Buckley to occupy the central attacking position from time to time, but they just stay in their starting positions. We are decent enough in defence/midfield to get into decent positions with the ball, but Ozzy and the midfielders have limited options ahead of them due to lack of movement.

We play Graham Potter's Swansea next week, who we will see (hopefully not) are incredibly fluid in their movement and interchanging of positions all over the pitch. We won't ever be anything like that, but I hope it is an area that we are working on at least when we have the ball in good positions.

Another soft goal given away in the first five minutes. Another defeat to nil. It’s Groundhog Day this.

Agree with this but at the moment we appear to be caught between two stools. Neither good or effective enough to follow last year's lump fest or good enough to beat the opposition at football.

I don't know whether we're better off sticking with PP who deserves patience and offers relative stability or twisting, and seeing if someone else can get more out of this bunch. Right now we look like certs for relegation and it's only just November

Absolute bucking follox. I have supported the Wanderers all my life, since I first found out, via B.B.C Sports report on the radio we weren't actually called "Bolton Wanderers Nil". I was 8 at the time. I have seen enough ups and downs to still despise any relation who is a plastic manc or Scouse supporter. I will pass away supporting the Whites. They are, and always have been my team.

I will now say this with total conviction: Anybody who thinks this current team is good enough to get in the top half of this division playing like they are doing is absolutely xxxxing dreaming. We were played with tonight and any decent Bolton Combination side could have put up a better display. We can even turn an advantage into a disadvantage in two easy passes and if we spent as much time going forwards as we do backwards we may even resemble a football team. In short, we were made to look very foolish and amateur tonight. I'm betting every single manager in this league knows us as soft touches. Attack us and we retreat, and we still haven't got rid of the idea that we can win offsides all the time. Bollox to offsides, face the ball, it's known by every kid over ten that a fast man will go through you like mike Tyson walking through butterflies. Very pissed off tonight indeed. What the answer is I know not, but we need one in a hurry. Until we get some financing and buy players of the level needed we have really got problems. Yeah, okay, you know and I know you know....etc.
It wasn’t that bad. They are an extensively assembled side and we matched them for long periods. Poor defending cost us alongside our pathological inability to score. But we created chances. It’s quality in the final third that is the issue. And frankly the difference between 24th and 6th is a couple of quality attacking players with goals in them.
Bullshit. There is a Universe of difference between 24th and 6th in this league. There's a galaxy worth between 10th and 22nd.

We play Swansea next week, who have just been beaten at Rotherham. If we dont get any points from Swansea (I know they have just come down from Premier league) then I think Parky's time will be due to come to an end

Parkinson's time WILL NOT BE DUE TO COME TO END under this parsimonious Chairman until he (Parkinson) can be sacked for no dosh outlay from Ken's pockets. We are, unfortunately, stuck with a shit manager, who has assembled a team of shit players, who cannot organise a ball pass between them, because we have a tit of a Chairman.
