Drove past the People’s Pension Stadium this morning. Big sign ‘Next match Bolton Wanderers’. Gulp. Even I’ve got a knotty stomach for you! Good luck guys, hope your season can end far better then Arsenals (not hard tbf! )

I think that explanation is more likely than "complacent"
Yeah that was Evatt's word - I guess it depends how you mean. Like I say I doubt anyone went 'we've done this boys lets just mess about second half'.

Probably more a case of the occasion sapping a bit of energy and not really knowing how to deal with the second half. For a team that likes to pass it I've noted that as soon as games get stretched it really does not suit us at all. Perhaps second half against Exeter we should have compressed the game and asked them to break us down.
I think you also have to look at why he's saying what's he's saying. I'm sure there were a number of factors even in individuals why Saturday didn't come off.

To the extent that the pressure got to anyone, does it help to say "oh they choked a bit"? I don't think so.

To the extent that there was some complacently, does it help to say "they were complacent and need to be on it?" I think probably yes.

I'd still rather be us then Morecambe but f*ck me I'm nervous

Immediately after the game he said it was pressure. The later following the exchange of honest views in the team meeting he talked about complacency. I get your point but my suspicion is as you say it’s a complex mix.

He will learn but I think Evatt tends to say too much in his interviews.

He is learning...he didn’t tell anyone they need to man up this time! Seriously it’s the fellas first season in proper football management. He’s done alright by me.

One thing I have noticed about Evatt this season is, he's not half put some timber on since he was appointed!

Tom Nichols, their top goalscorer, is suspended tomorrow.

Aye, it's been mentioned; he's serving the last match ban for getting a red card send off and three game ban.
Let's hope it's our top scorer we're cheering on tomorrow.

I'm in pieces. I've honestly had sleepless nights thinking about this game. Dunno how you lot can have #bantz at a time of such seriousness! :D

Heavy rain down there it looks like (and up here) and a bit of wind. Not a day for trying to walk the ball in or the fancy stuff. A day for getting it in the mixer and getting early shots on target. A day for grinding out a result.

That’s the task.

I’m about 25 miles from Crawley and the weather here is currently atrocious. Looks like the rain is due to clear up an hour or so before kick off, but let’s hope Crawley have better drainage/ground staff than some of the other tinpot jokers in this league.

You'd say that if it were sunny, you big long ball merchant you!

A nice greasy surface will suit our slick passing game.

It’s going to be a bit more than greasy. A day for muck and nettles. Real football. Not poncing round trying to avoid having a shot.

Doubt it. Can’t be that wet underground given we’ve not had that much rain of late. Were this March then I’d be more worried about that.

Gilks

Jones Brockbank Senior Santos Baptiste John Jackson

MJ

Greenidge Delaney

No place for frivolous attackers today - a solid 7-1-2 formation with some big lads up top. Strictly no fannying about with this nonsense ‘passing’ concept.

Bruce Rioch played attacking stuff on awful pitches. You just can’t walk the ball in though. Day for testing the keeper and getting balls into the box - Doyle can be our McGinlay.

Its a bold line up and I like it. However I'd go Gilks up front so his shouting can put off the opposition keeper. Brockbank as flying goalie and Delaney in his familiar defensive role to avoid being too tactically ambitious.
