I’d quite like Bradley not to dive in like that.
That's the first one he's got wrong tonight. Tired legs.

A win, three points and the rest, as Insaney would say, "is irrelevant. :oyea:

Our point at Ipswich is looking better by the match

Unbeaten in 4, and 3 of them clean sheets

Coming together nicely
What goes around may still come around

Feels like we're grinding out a win against Morecambe here. Scrappy matches in previous fixtures against Morecambe and this is no different.

Aimson yet again looking the part. Get the impression it took him a while to get used to Evatt's style of play but now he seems to have got it. Looking like the most improved player since he's signed.
Said it elsewhere but Aimson is the exact sort of player you need in the squad to succeed - solid and dependable.

Thoughts from the game. Until the last 5 +5 added according to the tannoy. They held bugger all threat. But that said, apart from Baka's astonishing feat of skill, I didn't spend the second half on the edge of my seat and we struggled to create shooting opportunities. Demps for me was probably the stand out, with our LWB being a close second. Aimson was improving his ball playing towards the end of last season and we looked solid for 85. John, dunno, doesn't seem right. Morley had a good game, but up front we looked a bit lost in all honesty.

Will always take 3 points, so happy enough. Ref was decent, though I list count of how many drop balls we had because he kept getting in the road. Fair play Traf for managing to launch one clean out of the ground.

Yeah it’s a cracking win and result. We kept a clean sheet which is critical.

The performance overall didn’t excite me too much. Defensively good, they had one chance. But we created little. Our play was too often slow and predictable.

Bradley and Dempsey the picks for me.

I think finding a left wing back who fancies the workload is critical now as John looks unable to get up and down to me.

We looked very one dimensional…Bradley running at them was our only real option.

Be very happy to grind more results out like this though.

Aimson was also excellent. I’m not sure we missed Santos at all.

Before we get too giddy, we had 8 points after 4 games last season. This season, whilst Ipswich looks a good away point, the other teams are currently sat 18th, 20th and 22nd...but they're teams who last year, countered our style pretty well, so this could be indicative of a good start (or not, maybe :-) )

Ahh yes, indeed. Second half, when we were kicking towards North, John was on MY right, with Bradley on MY left...surely folk and cope with that? 🤣

Lets not forget we comfortably beat Wycombe who reached the play off final last season. Whilst they may have started badly, it certainly helps to reflect on how good that squad could be.

Yeah, I've no idea if it's indicative of anything :-)

Part of the reason they're down there is 1/4 of their games have been against us :D

That's my question. I wasn't there last night but all the reports/comment say that he was excellent.
Could there be a case for playing them both? But then who misses out?
May the bridges I burn light your way

I don’t see the justification for it. Aimson was superb on Saturday and last night. We didn’t miss santos who let his teammates down. If Aimson drops to the bench then you aren’t managing your squad well.

Down to santos to win his place back

As for Bruce’s point I think in this system you only have one of Aimson or Santos realistically.

Morecambe aren’t exactly the most threatening going forward, especially without Stockton, so I don’t think it’s sensible to judge Aimson’s merits relative to Santos on that one performance.

Overall Santos is the better player, the club captain, and will remain an automatic starter for the foreseeable future.
