South of the border. A trip away to Stevenage, Tues 29th Oct, 19-45.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

There is an update here - https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/2 ... y-outcome/

First time I’ve seen them acknowledge Tutus absence being a lot longer than 6 weeks.
Yeah that's quite the roll-call of absentee expectations. Gethin will have missed three months of the season. Osei-Tutu nudges over two months. Forino went down in late September so that's another three months. Forrester was onut till mid-October, yet another three-month absence. No wonder Ian's evangelically leading the congregation to pray Toal's out for weeks not months.

Not only do we have a lot of injuries, recurrently, we also must have a record for the number of players who are injured for way longer than they were initially meant to be or who suffer setbacks.

Something in the setup isn’t right.

On a positive note I've been impressed with our no2 keeper. It would seem that we finally have a capable deputy for Baxter and on this recent run it's not guaranteed that Baxter will automatically walk back in to the first team.

And the key to a result is a good :kettle:

He was a bit iffy for the goal. For me Baxter is clearly the better keeper and should come back in. But Southwood is head and shoulders above Coleman and I'm not at all worried when he has to play. Can't ask for more from a #2.

Yep, Southwood is more than capable. Quite happy with him, though I agree that you'd be playing Baxter if both were available.

I think we're only one more defensive absence away from registering Luke Matheson. We'd have to. Interesting to note that young Luke actually played a portion of the Villa game at centre-back - Evatt switched him and JDC around midway through the 2nd half. So clearly it's a role he can play, even if it's not ideal. And even if he'd be crucified vs full L1 attacks...

How do we stack up against other League One teams on this front?

Agreed - I do wonder if Southwood is a better communicator. Defence seems calmer at mo. But that may just be a by-product of the upturn in form.

I suspect that we're seeing the after effects of us dispelling some nervous energy. Feels like good form is paying dividends in terms of fan criticism and lessening nervy moments in the matches.
