Pirates, but not of the Carribean. Away to Bristol, Sat 7th Dec, 3-0 clock

Games involving teams above us tell a tale.

• Reading (6th this morning and under a new gaffer) equalise at table-topping Wycombe.
• Stockport (5th) overcome an unproductive first hour to get ahead against Exeter.
• Huddersfield (4th) go ahead at Mansfield, and when the hosts equalise, within two minutes Hudds go back in front.
• Birmingham (3rd) go behind at 8th-placed Barnsley and within two minutes level. With the hosts down to 10, they're pushing for the win.
• Wrexham (2nd) take a while but score with their second effort on target.
• Only Wycombe (being held at home to Reading) and perhaps Brum will be disappointed so far.

This is what we're up against. Just. Keep. Winning.

Reading draw at leaders Wycombe, the other four above us all win. We're now within 3pts of 9th and 5th (although we're 11 goals behind the 4th-placed team, almost entirely thanks to losing 5-0 to them).

This gunna be tough.

Good point from Iles that Santos, Johnston, Matete and Collins were all a yellow card away from missing the Wigan game. You may or may not love all those players but more options is better.

Would bookings on Tuesday count?

Not sure they're bright enough, but I'd be tempted to suggest which game they were allowed to get a yellow in...or if one of 'em already has one, don't.

Otherwise they might all get Chrimbo with the wife n kids.

Even more so now. It's a one-game ban for five yellow cards up to league game 19, which (thanks to this postponement) is now Wycombe on Fri 20 Dec; the next game is Boxing Day, home to Barnsley.

For clarity, any of them carded v Wigan would miss the trip to the league leaders, so it's still not a cause for relaxation.

If we don’t come out with some yellows from the Wigan game we’ve probably meekly surrendered…
