Re: Division Three, 2024/25
They've just announced their Academy manager will be stepping up until the end of the season.
With the caveat that I know nothing about his credentials, I'd assume a rival sacking an experienced manager and replacing him with a youth coach on a interim basis is more likely to be good rather than bad news for us.
Re: Division Three, 2024/25
Suppose it's the equivalent of us giving it Jules Darby till May. It might work, it may not; but it will mean they will be short-staffed behind the scenes until then.

They only mentioned Duff had left. They appoint Worthington, if that's the "extent," then you might expect that Worthington's focus was all "first team" and they're less worried about their Academy....

Their fans are more p1ssed off that Mark Cartwright, their DoF, hasn't been sacked off first. He's getting no amount of vitriol and many are wanting their club to re-sign Markham. They're not too happy with the interim appt really either.

Is it good news? Well, not facing Duff has got to be a tick, although more for Evatt's Bolton than Darby's or Schuey's. On the other hand, when your opponent is shooting himself inthe foot, don't stop him... I dunno, it's another wildcard to throw into the playoff race.
It has happened before that a Yorkshire club has elevated the academy manager and won promotion - Heckingbottom at Barnsley, 2016.

Yeah I’d say the likelihood is that this is a negative for us. Duff wasn’t doing well and the fans had completely turned on him. An uptick in their form wouldn’t be surprising now.

Barnsley turf Darrell Clarke and give it Conor Hourihane fer't'rest o't'season. They're 10th, 8pts behind us.

Pies appoint Ryan Lowe, that certainly adds more spice for Schumacher in the upcoming game, master vs the apprentice style.
