Riga . . .

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Many apologies, your grace. No offence was meant. Riga isn't the same class as Nowak

My guess is to leave a spot open just in case we can get a good midfielder who becomes a free agent!
I don't think we will be able to do that irie Cee Bee.

If we only had 24 professional players then we could add to it later, say with an out of contract player. We cannot add to our 24 named in our squad because Riga is on our books and he is eligible to be included. In other words clubs cannot name an understrength squad in the hope of getting in a freebie or else you could have 5 contracted players all available for one floating position.

No more Mustapha jokes. We just lost Shittu. A sad day for Bolton fans.

Undestood Malcd1, but what happens if we release Riga from his contract. What then ? Could we not then bring in an out of contract player to make 25 ?

I think we could, otherwise that's pretty harsh on out of contract players.

Yeah it was my understanding youth players and out of contract player coming don't count in the 25man squad?!

Id love to see him play alongside a proper striker (just like i do with Elmander and Klasnic) I believe he has alot to offer rather than run around like a headless chicken running after balls smashed in the air (bouncing of heads). I remember seeing him and Elmander playing together against Spurs away and they linked up really well with elmander supplying around 5 chances for Riga in a 20 minute period, they looked like they had an understanding something that i havnt seen at Bolton for a good 7 seasons (a strike partnership).

Remind me, what was the score in that match at Spurs?

I can't believe the answer has been staring us in the face so long.

Just play Riga and Shittu. Job done.

Perhaps we could recall Ricardo Vaz Te, and I heard Stuart Whittaker and Andranik are still kicking around. Greg Strong can't be that old, and Jason Lydiate and Andy Roscoe could do a job, Matt Jansen and Michael Bridges up front....

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.
