Davies & Cahill in the England Squad

Post by BWFC_Wyles » Mon Oct 04, 2010 1:06 pm

http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wa ... ong_squad/

"Kevin Davies is believed to be in the England long squad of 34 players for England's European Championships qualifying game against Montenegro at Wembley next Tuesday.
He joins Gary Cahill in the long squad which coach Fabio Capello will whittle down this evening to the squad which will be on duty against Montenegro."

He really does deserve the chance IMO. If he doesn't make it this time, with all the injuries, then that's definitely it!

Davies has been in the long squad quite a few times. He won't make the final squad.

Oh I know, but not for quite a while now. I think this will be his time.

Aye most likely but he has been rumoured to be begging Heskey to return so one never knows. Would love KD to get at least one cap. An honour he deserves in my opinion.

SKD doesn't play for West Ham or Spurs - so he's no chance.

Rooney shouldn't be picked - he's had an appalling season.

Then again, Darren Bent was overlooked in favour of Heskey for the WC, so nothing would surprise me with Capello.
Troll and proud of it.

Way to go SKD. Probably won't play but will finally get the chance to put on an England shirt. That decision will probably drive Arsenal, West Ham and Sir Nut over the deep end.

Well happy for Davies, definitely deserves it.

But Cahill not being in just because Rio Ferdinand can stand up is well out of order!

I'm deffo not an England supporter...usually cheering on the opposition, but I am overjoyed with Davo's capa nd even if he gets 15mins on the pitch it will be a well-deserved cap.

I might even watch the game...if it doesn't clash with the Ireland one ;)

Congrats to Super Kev! About time!

Interesting 4 strikers: 3 big men and an out-of-form Rooney.
