They're stretching us at will and look dangerous every time they break while our buildup is laboured. This 442 is not working.

After a opening where we looked very comfortable, Wigan have taken the game to us. Some needless fouls in the middle and gifting them possession at times. Petrov and Lee anonymous. Wouldn't be surprised if Cahill gets subbed off with a nosebleed atm.
Still, it's 0-0 and we've got a whole half to punish their profligacy. Keeping the faith.

I saw him give it away once? maybe unless ur counting crosses and through passes that are intercepted. He won back a few as well and created some half decent chances. About average I'd say, certainly not poor. Same goes for pretty much all the players except Stein who really needs to mark better on crosses.Verbal wrote:Quiet so far, with us looking ok but Wigan have had a couple of decent opportunities.
Lee looks poor so far, giving the ball away a lot.
Room for improvement definitely.

Relatively even. We started off better, but didn't make the most of our possession, and Wigan nearly punished us during the latter stages. The wingers are quite poor at the minute, and seem to give the ball away a lot - there were some good touches from our forwards, and Elmander in particular looks dangerous. Cahill needs to remember not to go walkabouts, it's like watching The Monk from Mean Machine. Mavies on for the second half, for Lee, push Holden wide right. Taylor on for Petrov, although I'm not sure how much difference it'd make. We need to start taking advantage when we go up the pitch, and put Kirkland under some pressure.

Jussi on top form and needs to be. We're still allowing players to run right at us and backing off. Ref's giving free kicks for fairy challenges and Wigan haveturned into a team of jessies. Neither of the yellows deserved more than a free kick and Davies got baltantly dragged off the bal and got nothing. What else is new? Need Petrovand Lee to start running at them. Petrov had a couple of wild shots but not been affective; too prone to passing it backwards to marked players. They're dangerous when they do get forward but we need to stop letting them do that. This is still winnable if we get near rtheir goals.
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
We don't have any width so lets take off a winger and push a centre mid wide right...
Nah.
Right now I'd take Young Fabrice off for Mavies and Taylor for Petrov.

Classic Webb. Feels he should have done something for Muamba's tackle on McCarthy so now he's going after us wether the offences merit it or not.
