it's hardly "gone south"! It all seems very civilised to me!
Oh absolutely, was referencing the couple of daft responses (from both sides).

Hey look, we're off for a good day out. We don't expect to win (which would be very patronising and daft), we're hoping you put out a weaker team and we'll then try and bring you back for a replay.

Realistic? Probably not, but we've all been there, where we've gone to a bigger club and kept the hopes alive of getting something out of it ;)

we know all about it Danny... we used to be quite noted for our brave cup scalps... looooooooooooong time ago though... one depressing truth about the Prem is that managers often (probably sensibly) rate a good cup run below the League... we have yet to see what Coyle's view of Bolton in the FA Cup is - he didn't take the Carling Cup all THAT seriously..

We start selling tickets tomorrow. Both tiers available. Our regulars are aiming for the lower tier.

He seemed to pick teams that he thought could win. Likesay:

York are a couple of pegs below Southampton but I would be surprised if he makes wholesale changes. Yes, he has fringe players to keep involved, but he knows how much cup runs can mean from his long career on both pitch and bench - he reached the Scottish Cup final with Airdrie and had a few unforgettable cup wins with us, then as manager he took lower-league St Johnstone to two semi-finals in his first full season, then led them to the final of the (non-SPL) Scottish Challenge Cup before switching to Burnley (Sandy Stewart stayed on and they won the final). Then Burnley beat Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs...

I'd expect Jaaskelainen, Cahill and Elmander to be rested, possibly one or other of Holden and Muamba too, but possibly only as far as the bench, depending how hard the previous midweek game against Wigan has been.

You can have a bunch of internationals who get panned by a proper team. Thankfully, we don't seem short of team spirit - in five of the last six homes games we've scored in the 88th minute or later. Whatever team he sends out, with ringers like Mark Davies, Matt Taylor and Ivan Klasnic we should be alright.

They were gone in the first 28 minutes... Radio Cap and Whippet has had its lines jammed with complaints from disappointed hordes... Chairman's house is surrounded at this moment by children who cannot afford £5.00... Ebay has less than a dozen tickets on offer with opening bids above two large...

It's the big one...

I heard that Garty has arranged for another 5,000 to be clad in overalls and stuck to a large sheet of wood using Solvite wall paper paste and suspended facedown from a helicopter 30 foot above the pitch for the duration. It's the only way left to cram the final remaining Yorkettes into the ground.

Yep, poor old, run down, poverty stricken, hand-to-mouth, culture-free zone, full of Northern monkeys, that York is.

Glad Bolton's so up market.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

York is a beautiful city, in the centre at least, don't know the other bits, other than the university. But it's far from a cultural hub. Leeds and Sheffield serve that role in Yorkshire, the former well, the latter poorly.

Some of the most valuable pioneering work on poverty and social deprivation originates in York with studies from early in the last century by Seebohm Rowntree of social conditions in the town. This continues today with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation's latest report (2010) showing child poverty at an 18 year high and set to increase. [Correction - it is unemployment among 16-24 year olds that is at this high. apologies - careless reading!]

Their football supporters look like fun, though. Looking forward to seeing them in action.

I assume that's the joke that just keeps on giving. Well done for the recycling efforts.

Although we'll get to the 5,000 figure, it's already pretty much nailed on that your stadium being bossed by us that Saturday, given the dullness of most Premiership crowds, nevermind less than half turning up as suggested. Hope your reserves will be up for some of the surprises we've got planned for them, uptight stewards or not ;)

There is something amusing about a £2m benchwarmer from somewhere overseas running for his life with a flare on his head

Cheers, and whilst the Premiership appears to have removed some people's ability to banter, per East Lower (username based on here he sits? For pity's sake!) I totally reserve the right to address posters who clearly know feck all outside of the Premiership, especially when they come across as "I like going to the Reebok as I get to see Rooney in the flesh" types.

Don't like it, fine, it's your forum. Enjoy the wankfest over "Ford Super Sundays"
