Britannia Stadium

Post by wanderers_on_tour » Tue Dec 21, 2010 9:28 pm

Hi all, just a quick question to those who have visited the Britannia in recent years on what they thought of the ground/experience in general?

Thing is i'm looking for a present for my old man for his birthday in January and more specifically tickets for an away trip so it's between Liverpool and Stoke at the moment. I've heard bad things about both the price of Anfield and the quality of the seating (limited views etc.) so im just looking for a few opinions on Britannia being a better shout?

Thanks in advance!!

It's a good grpound, good views & easy access.

The native's however are, with maybe the exception of Everton, the most one-eyed, biased, utterly unreasonable bunch of gits you'll ever witness. Every kick, throw-in or broken piece of grass is accompanied by baying & hollering which will utterly amaze you.

Nicer than Anfield though.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Shite. Too far from town, no train station, no parking, no pubs.

sorry, i only read the first line again...

i reckon Stoke would be a better day out for your old man. we will take a lot more for a start so the atmosphere will be better, also a good chance of a result and the view is good. Anfield doesnt have the same awe it once did, & is a fookin rip off.

Loudest ground i've ever been to.

To be fair most of their fans seem a balanced lot, don't be a prick, and don't go looking for bother, and you will be fine.

Theres less round their ground than the Reebok, and its miles from the station.

The away end is one of those caged in ones outside, a bit like Birmingham, went on the coach once but you could wander out of the caged in area if you wanted.

Theres not much to see however.
