Isn't it a bit hollow to have souvenirs from games that you haven't been to?

Yeah, must agree that seems a bit cheap if you weren’t there.
I made a contented effort to obtain a scarf from every European game I went to, I didn’t want the specially made ones with both clubs badges, I wanted authentic ones the home fans were wearing, preferably in a swapsies deal.
I have Marseille, Guimaraes, Plovdiv, Madrid, Lisbon, Belgrade & Munich – each one from a home fan except the last two I mention where i had to purchase from club shops because; the former, we met no home fans - and the latter, I misplaced my Bolton scarf so had nowt to trade with!
Also got Braga & Aris ones I got off a couple of foreign geezers at the reebok!
Don’t have em on display or owt though, couldn’t think of a tasteful way to do it – any ideas?

maybe... BUT - not all "collections" are "souvenirs"... some collections are just collections...

Ahh those Aris fans, had infinately more fun watching them that night rather than the game!General Mannerheim wrote:Yeah, must agree that seems a bit cheap if you weren’t there.

Maybe I could get a series of taxidermic mounted animal heads all lined up along the wall, each wearing one of the scarfs round its neck?

Ah, but then wouldn't you have had to have personally shot said head-donating animals yourself?General Mannerheim wrote:Maybe I could get a series of taxidermic mounted animal heads all lined up along the wall, each wearing one of the scarfs round its neck?

Re: Looking for european game scarf collection
The scarves occasionally appear on ebay. The last Bolton/Aris scarf I saw sold for over £20 to a Greek fan.Bolton/Zenit sells for over a fiver but Aris is the one that raises most money.I actually put an Atletico Madrid/Bolton one from the away leg on for a fiver and got no bidders.
There was a stall at the Bolton programme fair that had scarves from the first Uefa Cup run back in 2006 but I haven't seen them on sale anywhere other than ebay and carboots since then.
As far as i know, Bolton didn't produce any official match scarves in the first Uefa Cup run but there was an official group scarf on sale in the club shop for a fiver. This i have seen sell on ebay for £20.All the match scarves in the first run were unofficial ones on sale outside the ground.
For the 2nd Uefa Cup run Bolton issued match scarves for all five home games at a fiver each.Oh yeah and Bolton also turned one out for the Bayern away game at a fiver.
