3 weeks off....1 point
I have been on an enforced BWFC holiday due to getting married and buggering off for a week after. Rather than trawl through the threads of doom and gloom I would rather get some succinct summaries from the TW regulars...
1 point from 3 games does not seem too clever. Did we deserve more?
I wouldn't normally be gutted to lose to Liverpool and Chelsea, but given as neither team could beat their way out of a paper bag, was it poor form on our part not to get anything out of the games? Was the late Liverpool a soft goal?
That is all. Thanks, M_42.

Thats what was missing!
Don't leave us again this season.
Gonna spank chelsea 3 - 0 now.
Hope you had a nice Wedding and Honeymoon.
We haven't been too clever but not bad either.
A few bad decisions from the officials in both Chelsea and Liverpool games could have made it 3 points from 3.
Still 7th so onwards and upwards.

Succinctly from memory:
On the face of it we lost to both Chelsea and Liverpool by an offside goal each. However, debate rages on.
Had a penalty call at Chelski dismissed again...
We're badly missing Holden, and missed Chungy a bit at first...
Muamba seemed tired...
Missed Robinson for a game too...
Alonso didn't quite meet expectations...
Some other things happened...

Things could've gone differently, but overall I don't think we were quite good enough.

Congratulations Pegg, must admit have been enjoying your autobiography recently...
It's just one of those spells clubs go through from time to time, and we're lucky that it's not at a crucial part of the season. We had spells like this under Sam in the seasons we qualified for Europe, if you want to hunt for a silver lining.
For my mind we have lost our way in terms of confidence in this so-called passing game that got the media gooey eyed late Oct/Nov. We also looked incredibly tired and the lack of squad depth has caught up with us.
We're lucky that Jan is relatively light on Prem games and with the extra cup tie could allow us to re-group, get more players like Cohen and Alonso more involved with first team minutes and try to keep the squad fresh - as well as adding to it hopefully.

I'll write about the wedding in the next installment of the autobiography then. I think it will be called 'the next leg of the Pegg journey'.hisroyalgingerness wrote:Congratulations Pegg, must admit have been enjoying your autobiography recently...

Nice to hear there is still optimism in the ranks. I wouldn't normally mind losing to the bindippers and Chelski, but it's almost embarrasing to be the only team they have both beat in about three millennia!

I think part of it was the timing of our games. Their bad runs HAD to end SOON (esp Pool) and we were there at the wrong time...
One game earlier and we'd have thumped 'em both... maybe
I'd rather support Bolton than be you.

I'd rather support Bolton than be you.

Yes, but he's a dead ringer for Simon Pegg... Almost as much as HRG actually!Eire_Trotter wrote:Is his name not Marshall??hisroyalgingerness wrote:Congratulations Pegg, must admit have been enjoying your autobiography recently...

It took you two weeks to get married?? Remind me not to sit through the video of that one...marshall_42 wrote:I have been on an enforced BWFC holiday due to getting married and buggering off for a week after.
