Cahill In England Squad

Post by KeeeeeeeBaaaaaaab » Sat Feb 05, 2011 9:22 pm

The full squad:

Ben Foster, Joe Hart, David Stockdale
Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Glen Johnson, Joleon Lescott, John Terry, Kyle Walker
Gareth Barry, Stewart Downing, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere, Ashley Young
Gabriel Agbonlahor, Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney

Let's hope for a start in this massively meaningless game.

About time. The partnership of Terry and Ferdinand needs breaking up. They're best days are behind them. Glen Johnsons wank too. Build and England team around the likes of Hart, Cahill, Gibbs, Wilshere, Carroll etc

Its funny how he has the best chance of staring when has probably been playing his worst spell for us.

He deserves his place for sure though

tripod - Good idea, but very difficult to do that without a good, young manager, a patient fanbase and far, far too much money riding on instant success and picking faces rather than ability.

I'd love to see a talented core of players gradually moulded into actual contenders, but just wait until those contenders have their first poor performance in England shirts. Then there'd be demands of yet another root & branch reform of the game before the ink has dried on the previous demands for root & branch reform of the game.

I know man, this is what's wrong with the English game. Everything in this country is over-analysed. Sky has brought in millions of course and the Premiership as we know it, BUT the constant coverage has stunted our growth. No mistakes are allowed. Young players aren't allowed to grow anymore, they have to be sent to lesser clubs on loan to learn first team football, look at Wilshere now. To name but 3 Joe Hart - Birmingham, Wilshere Bolton, Kyle Walker Aston Villa etc. All benefited from a season of first team football. Look at Sturridge with us, Coyle's given him a chance and he's chomping at the bit, he's got a point to prove. I'm sorry to say (i'm 26) this but as a footballing nation, England will not win the world cup again in my lifetime

same old faces and no form

Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney(cnut),Gabriel Agbonlahor, Frank Lampard,Joleon Lescott(ugly cnut)

would loved to see kevin nolan in the squad he's been better this season than any of those in midfield what does the fella have to do
good to see scott parker there hate west ham but he's a good player
David Stockdale saw him play a few times for plymouth and he's a good keeper
i hope Kyle Walker plays instead of johnson the last year or so he has been shocking
Never get into an argument with an idiot. i'll bring you down to my level and beat you with experience

Joe Hart is having a bad few weeks. Guarantee the 23 year old will do a silly and the Sun will mock up an effigy. Square one, it's been a while my old friend.

I know. I've the best part of a decade on you, and those ten years weren't too dissimilar. Not just football in need of change, culture does too. More patience, less cynicism, more faith. Pigs fly.

What side will Glen Johnson be playing? At present Liverpool have pushed over to the left side as they feel Kelly is a better player or at least knows a bit about defending. A large perecentage of that side do not deserve their place. Surprised Joe Cole didn't make that side.

Yes ?

Big words Worthy, but I don't think you mean them.

Glad Cahill is back in the fold, can only improve him mentally playing in bigger games, whether he actually starts is another question, I can't see why he wouldn't start ahead of Lescott seeing as though he actually plays on regular basis.

How the fcuk is Lampard in the England squad he's been injured for most of the season and since he has come back he has been awful, the best English midfielder this season by far has been Joey Barton he has been consistently the best player for Newcastle this season, however should his off field antics permanently exclude him from England duty??? Who's to say, although I wouldn't exactly call the current England players saints......

But overall its another pointless friendly and all the so called 'best players' will suddenly get injured for one week and not play and therefore makes the game even more pointless.......
