Boo. Hopefully he will be fit for the pre-season friendlies, think that's the best we can hope for and even that is very optimistic.

Quite a serious loss because he was our cover all across the back four who have been dropping like flies this year.

6m is optimistic I fear. If he plays again in 2011 it'll be a bonus.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

My gut feeling too, tbh. achilles are bastards.

How likely is that he might lose a yard or two of his pace, as it was one of his biggest assets?

Gutted for him. Seems like a good bloke.
I'd rather support Bolton than be you.

Very serious injury. Just wish him luck and hope he can come back at this level. Good if unspectacular defender who can cover a number of positions. worth his weight in the Premier League.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Assuming no complications and properly treated he should come back as good as new. The repaired achilles can actually be stronger.

There's a "head game" he'll need to overcome ... the sheer fear that it'll happen again, but he seems a steady guy so hopefully he'll pass that.

Trouble is, no-one will know until it happens.

Well, at least he can look on the bright side - he doesn't have to walk his dogs. :hang:
