You were never much good, but at least you tried, I suppose
JOEY O’Brien looks set to be reunited with Gary Megson after agreeing to join Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of the season.

The Wanderers midfielder pulled out of last night’s reserves game against Bury and is expected to join the struggling League One club before Thursday’s window closes, providing the two clubs can come to an agreement.

O’Brien, out of contract at the end of the season, is desperate to get first-team football under his belt as he continues his recovery from a career-threatening knee injury.

Strange decision if true with Holdens injury, and our need for midfielders.

Maybe means a promotion from the reserve team for someone.

I think it just means that OC doesn't think he's currently up to the demands of the Premier League.

As with Gardner.

No .... what's a strange decision is BWFC in any way whatsoever helping Megson.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Exactamundo.

Though Joey really isn't up to playing in our midfield two, I just hope we've bloody fleeced 'em.

While I've never been a fan of Joseph, I'd make him 4th in line for one of those 2 spots

So, a strange one for me

Ditto, Caps

Surely we have a recall in there? Though I never know with our club these days

Reunited? Did Megson ever get to see O'Brien play? In fact, did he even get to see him train?
I'd send him Joey O'Brien, too. Dressed as a wooden horse.

I'm not sure whether he saw being played on the wing by Megson as a blessing or a curse. I wonder whether the strawberry blonde used it like the naughty step?

I'd imagine that the Bolton board don't bear any grudges towards him. No reason they should really.

I can think of several reason why they should.
But it'll be as a favour to JoeyO rather than as a favour to tithead.

This is where one of the kidz puts a picture of an epic Picard Facepalm isn't it?

Really? And what would those be? From what I heard he parted on good terms with his "bosses" just not other areas of the club. And lets be honest assuming Coyle wants to get some of JOB off the wage bill, how many other clubs would be interested?

how great can the parting terms be with the board when they have had to make the judgement that he isn't up to the job - have to shell out to bring another manager in - and have to continue paying Megson for months sitting on his arse in the garden?

I suppose thats true about the lack of a "compo deal being agreed". But then who knows what that issue really was. Might just have easily been Bolton digging heels over something.

Who knows?

Anyways would be a good move for JOB if it happens.

You've obviously just awoken from a coma and missed the last 12 months. Glad to hear you're feeling much better now.

I've no idea if any other clubs are interested, but I'll say it again. We'll be loaning him out as a favour to the JOB, not as a favour to Megson.

Put it this way. D'you think Chelsea are loaning us Sturridge as a favour to Coyle or for the lad?
