Starting off slowly
In the games I've been to this year we've always seemed to "start off slowly" or "take a while to get going".. I'm thinking particularly about Birmingham at home when we went 2-0 down, Jussi was sent off and we made a heroic comeback. Then Blackburn at home when they had 5 at the back and made it difficult but we only seemed to get going after another sending off (admittedly after they changed formation).
I didn't see away to Brum at the weekend but the guy on the radio actually used the phrase "haven't got going yet" in the first half. From the highlights we seemed to be doing ok and had plenty of shots later on in the game.
The good thing, as far as I can see, is that we do eventually get going, certainly after the half-time oranges. This makes me think that OC is earning his corn.
Anyone else noticed the slow starts? Reasons for it?

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Ermmm, surely he'd be 'earning his corn' if he didn't have to get them going midway through a gameArmchair Wanderer wrote:This makes me think that OC is earning his corn
Y'know, as novel as it might be, playing from the first minute?

Re: Starting off slowly
I've noticed our league position and that our name is still in the hat for the FA Cup.
So I'll take the slow starts. After all, it gives us some exciting games like the Brum and Blackpool games, and the Brum FA Cup game. To name but a few.
So, in a glass half full kind of way. we have strong finishes.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.
