I was indeed referring to Tamir, he did a job for us under HWSNBN but he's not really the football winning midfielder we craveDave Sutton's barnet wrote:He's out of contract, so no money - although we'd cut his (probably quite low) wages from the bill. 'Sturridge open to BWFC return' goes the headline, without any words to that effect in the article. Well done Marc Iles, you bald tit.
DANIEL Sturridge has hinted for the first time that he would be open to returning to Wanderers next season.
The Chelsea striker has been a revelation since arriving in January, scoring seven goals in 10 games and putting himself into contention for Fabio Capello’s England squad.
Sturridge had previously insisted that he would be returning to Stamford Bridge to contest a first team place with Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka.
But it will be music to the ears of Wanderers fans that his stance now appears to have softened leaving the door open for a possible Reebok return.
“I love playing for Chelsea, and I don’t want to be anywhere else, but if I need to play somewhere else on loan again next season, I will do,” said the England Under-21 international.

I thought that. And there are plenty of articles around yesterday saying he was desperate to go back to Chelsea.Lofthouse Lower wrote:'Sturridge open to BWFC return' goes the headline, without any words to that effect in the article. Well done Marc Iles, you bald tit.

He's only 22BWFC_Insane wrote:Scott Sinclair? Really? Looks to me like a classic case of "good at championship level" but far less likely to make it in the premiership.
Would not be one for me.
No chance of making it at Chelsea- a long way behind Malouda
This (if Wikipedia is right) is his first settled season anywhere and he has scored 19 league goals as a winger - plus a few in cups.
Rather like Mavies and Connolly- who followed their youth team coach here from Wolves - he followed Rogers from Chelsea (youths and reserves) to Swansea
Looks like another Cahill / Muamba / Wheater / Mavies type of signing
After all Gartside did say we are a trading club now
Though presumably we would sell Danny Ward if Sinclair came
What goes around may still come around

St Etienne are a decent club - but French clubs know that the PL can outbid them.
Though Toon can outbid us if they are serious

Agreed. I saw him play at home park too a couple of times but he's not 4million's worth especially with only loan spells in the EPL.plymouth wanderer wrote:i saw sinclair play down here for Argyle and he was brilliant he scored two of the best goals that's ever been seen at home park and he was only 17 he's an out an out roadrunner but can't see us paying 4 mill for him

I dunno. Maybe 2 - 2.5. Big punt though for a budget like ours.plymouth wanderer wrote:Gaz Tomorrow wrote:Agreed. Link with Chris McCann is an interesting one.
http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sp ... r/?ref=rss" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
On one hand he has the potential to be a very good player. On the other, we've already got two very good injury prone midfielders and CMC would only be a third.
One positive is that we could get him fairly cheaply. Compo wouldn't reach seven figures and a fit Chris McCann is certainly Premier League quality.

I find all the Sturridge talk weird. He's going back to Chelsea, we've given him game time and he'll go straight in up front alongside Torres, after Drogba goes in the summer (imho of course).
He wants to play for Chelsea, he's made that clear.

Mate was at the game yesterday and was stood with the Sturridge family - claims they got talking and say that he is definitely coming back next season.
Hope it's true.
