Gradel was linked with both Beskitas and Newcaste United a few week back with a rumoured fee of between 2-6 mil. Although we could just about compete I don't think we can be gambling with that amount of money during this window and with our current level of debts.

I'm not sure about Larsson myself. I think he might be one of those players that looks good on Match of the Day, and fans of other clubs think they are better than they are, but people who see them play 90 minutes regularly see it differently. See Nolan, Taylor, Pedersen and Blackburn.

I think you're probably right.. Brum fans thought he was in the side for when they win free kicks in dangerous positions, but offered nothing in open play.

Larsson is average at best.

However, Nolan scored 12 goals last season from midfield. I'd settle for anyone of our midfield players being a "MOTD player" and doing that.

Max will never make the Grade(l), he is shit. And John Utaka's brother? Brilliant. That youtube link (solid indicator) is from 2007-8 too. Pratley would be good, and I'd have Larsson but only as cover, so not worth the pennies he will want.

I think that's a bit harsh fella, living in Leeds all you ever hear about is how United are good enough to be a top 10 premiership team and even how a 1-0 win over scum in the f.a cup a few years back makes them a shoe in for top 4 when/if they ever get promted

However, such biased morons aside, the general consensus is that the only players in their current side that could cut the grade at a premiership side are Gradel and Snodgrass. I've personally seen gradel a fair few times (he even lives a few streets away from yours truly, although granted a few much nicer streets away ) both on tv and the rare times i've been dragged to elland road and would be a decent player for a lower premier league time (think a wolves, or a wigan) but perhaps not ourselves or even Newcastle. He's a quick player, good touch, bit of flair but fair too hit/miss for my liking. Sometimes, like the last game of championship against QPR he'll pull out these wonderful, goal of the week worthy finishes but for each of these he'll have missed 2 or 3 sitters. So in general i think he's a decent player, definately not shit by any stretch of the imagination, but not for us and especially not for anything £2mil plus!

Bit gutted about Pratley if its true, but having said that he's not the be-all and end-all of our targets this summer.

Bolton loanee Rodrigo Moreno will not return to The Reebok Stadium next season.

The 20-year-old forward, on loan from Benfica, has spent the season with the club, who had hoped to keep him next term.

But a source at the Portuguese club has revealed that Rodrigo is expected to join up with the Benfica squad this summer and compete for a place in next season's first team.

The source said: "Bolton and other clubs were interested in the player for next season, but our coach now thinks his place is here with Benfica."

Rodrigo, who made 17 Premier League appearances for Owen Coyle's side, joined Benfica from Real Madrid in July but was immediately sent out on loan to Bolton. But now he looks set to get his chance for the Portuguese side, much to his delight, according to his father and agent Adalberto Machado.

"This is what he wanted," Machado said. "The experience in England has been superb and the boy is now more mature and more experienced. His goal is to win at Benfica."

When I say shit, I do mean 'would be shit in the premiership'. He is a decent player at that level, no more. Free transfer as cover on both wings, aye, why not, but certainly not one to go chasing with chequebook out.

No thanks. Still love the bloke, but is never ever good enough in a 4-4-2. Absolutely brilliant when your team is set up to create chances bobbling around in the box, top notch finisher, and a great instinct for space, but doesn't have the all round game we need.
