Cutting to the chase, on balance, yes.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

I would take him cos he's better than Muamba but wouldn't really want to be paying him more than £30k a week. I would imagine thats quite a significant pay cut for him so might not be a goer.

At first glance - YES, YES, YES!!!
Then i consider what his wage demand will be and i ask OC and PG to assess very hardly...
would deffo have him though

Yes, if wages were in accordance with the rest of the squad.
He'd not "walk into the starting eleven", for me...

no thank you...
Are we in League 2 yet - Three seasons and we'll be away to Chesham

All depends on wages. But I'd not be against the idea. Wouldn't be over the moon either like.

It's a big yes from me.
Reo-Coker sitting in the centre circle would allow Holden off the leash a little.

It's not like he's Tamir Cohen or anything, is it !?!?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I say no thanks. An on-form Muamba is better and younger. It's in our best interest to get the best out of him, rather than ditching him for an expensive replacement, who isn't even that great himself. If we're pushing the boat out to sign a midfielder, do it properly and get Barton.
Won't be distraught if he does end up here, but I don't think he's right for us.

Re: Nigel reo coker released by villa
I'm hoping whoever we get in isn't a replacement for anyone other than those who have left. It would be madness to dispense with the youth and promise of Muamba and Davies, and with the (so far) excellent Holden.
And thats the problem. We have no-one beyond those three worthy of the shirt in midfield. Barton will probably have more suitors, and (marginally) a bigger ego for the guaranteed first team place.
As it happens, I can't see either coming, I just don't think we have the money. But I reckon of the two Reo-Coker is the more realistic and viable. His stock is much lower than Barton's, and Coyle could try to rebuild him.

Re: Nigel reo coker released by villa
Yes, definitely for me. He's still young and is a box-to-box workaholic midfielder our system needs. He also led the tackling one year recently- just ahead of Muamba. He's better 'football' player than Muamba and they could rotate to keep them fresh.
Reo Coker, Holden, Muamba, Mavies, and Davis and maybe Pratley and our midfield is sorted.

I doubt we could afford it, but I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment.mullayo wrote: Reo Coker, Holden, Muamba, Mavies, and Davis and maybe Pratley and our midfield is sorted.

Re: Nigel reo coker released by villa
I'd be more inclined to sign Sebastian Larsson from Birmingham.
Re: Nigel reo coker released by villa
Hard to turn someone like him down. Thing his wage demands will be too much though.
Re: Nigel reo coker released by villa
I agree with Tom though, I'd prefer Barton.
I can't believe I actually said that.
