Re: Nigel reo coker released by villa
If Coker is looking for LESS than 35K, then I'd be happy to have him on board.
Barton is already on 60K p/w and is turning down contract offers, safe to say that one is a non-starter.
Larsson is decent, but not much more and I can't help but think the fact a lot of teams are in for him will push his wage demands far beyond what we should be paying for a player of his calibre.
Also, isn't he just a right footed Matt Taylor? No engine, not likely to beat a man, good shot, half-decent pass, eye-catching if inconsistant set-play.

To be honest, I'm not sure anybody mentioned in this thread is going to really make an impact, they are all squad players.CAPSLOCK wrote:Why?Mar wrote:I'd be more inclined to sign Sebastian Larsson from Birmingham.
I wouldn't mind anybody who has been named, but as back up and I wouldn't spend a fortune either.

Barton is a quality player, I'd love it if we signed him but I really doubt we could afford his wages.tell ben im him wrote:i for one dont want that prick here and would not renew if he came factChoppers wrote:I agree with Tom though, I'd prefer Barton.

I've seen him have a decent impact on games. Thing is for a player of his stature on a free it wouldn't be breaking the bank in wages, it'd be nice cover. If you take a look at his past record there's quite a few purple streaks in there which suggest the potentials there but not yet got the best of. I'm sure with him sniffing around the squad looking for a place all it would take would be a boost in confidence and we'd have someone that would contribute a few goals. All he really needs is consistency.

Great footballer, but I think he is like Bellamy - a nasty piece of work with the ability to ruin the ethic that Coyle has created. Also i can't imagine him wanting to leave Newcastle to come to us.tell ben im him wrote:i for one dont want that prick here and would not renew if he came factChoppers wrote:I agree with Tom though, I'd prefer Barton.

Wouldn't like Barton to come to the club. Disgusting peice of work and no doubt he'd think himself bigger than the club. Quite clearly talented but he's not really one that would fit into the Coyle ethos. Big Sam's ethos definitely but not Coyle's, i'm sure Coyle would prefer players that don't go around stabbing their youth players in the eye with Cigars.

You'd not renew if the club signed a player you didn't want?tell ben im him wrote:i for one dont want that prick here and would not renew if he came factChoppers wrote:I agree with Tom though, I'd prefer Barton.

I'd only go if Barton was injured!! He could be Messi that odious little cretin and I still would not have him here FULL STOP!

Today's People has Barton earmarked for Everton along with Bothroyd.

NRC would be first choice in the middle where we were woefully exposed
If we were getting a wide right and a central midfielder, fair enough, but if its one or the other its no contest
And, Larsson is shite
I'm glad you're not signing players for us

Re: Nigel reo coker released by villa
He wouldnt sign a new contract at 50 grand a week he wants 80 grand a week and has run his old contract down . he thinks one of the big 4 are after him so his agent keeps telling him.
Re: Nigel reo coker released by villa
Best of luck to him. Think he will come back to you to renegotiate later when nothing pans out with the big 4?kingstanding villa wrote:He wouldnt sign a new contract at 50 grand a week he wants 80 grand a week and has run his old contract down . he thinks one of the big 4 are after him so his agent keeps telling him.

Yes, if his wage demands are acceptable

He's a decent enough player. And for a free I'd take him on. Wage permitting.
